Will it be any less of an experience attending Oogie Boogie Bash BEFORE Halloween at the parks officially start on 8/22? We had to move our trip up by a few days as my son was going to turn 3 during our trip and sounds like Disney parks changed the "Guest of Mickey" free for whole trip policy and now our last park day will be the day before his birthday. But that leaves us with 8/19 or 8/21 as viable options.

This is the first time we've seen OBB before Halloween starts, so I don't think anyone can say for sure.

The advertising for OBB shows all of the DCA Halloween Time (eg, Monsters After Dark) stuff as being open and available, so I'm assuming they'll unofficially start Halloween Time at DCA on the 17th.

Will there be a seperate special link to purchase OBB tickets or do you just use the link in the Disneyland App to buy tickets.

Do we know what characters will be at the event ? Any new ones for this year?
Disney posted this (possible hints):

If that's literal, it looks like Oogie Boogie, Doofenshmirtz, Judge Doom, Agatha, Hades, Ernesto de la Cruz, Yokai (Big Hero 6), Mickey, and a TBA at Pixar Promenade. EDIT: plus a TBA at Grizzly River Run.

I hope this is wrong. Basically exactly the same as last year. Only one missing is Hocus Pocus
I missed the green flame at Grizzly River Run - so it looks like two new characters for this year - which I think is what happened last year. (Looks like they're also retiring Sid, which is a bummer.)

We don’t care about candy either. We did miss Sid last year so probably why I forgot all about him. Glad there is a potential for one new addition. I am so happy Ernesto is staying, he is was our favorite last year along side Oogie himself.

The Hocus Pocus characters wouldn't be on here regardless. They are a meet and greet, not a treat trail. This graphic is the treat trails only.

So, basically, it looks like Sid is being replaced with someone else. Madam Mim doesn't appear to be on here. But, there will be a new character near Grizzly River. (Or should I say "new", because 2 years ago it was Mother Gothel, but last year they had nobody in that spot.)

Still, kind of a bummer line up if you've been the past couple years like I have. I likely wasn't going this year anyway, for other reasons related to other travel plans, but this solidified it for me. (And since they likely won't announce the new additions until after tickets are sold out, it's really not gonna do anything to entice me!)
