Oogie Boogie Day question

We aren't going to OBB but we are only in parks Tues-Wed-Thurs this week and for 2 of those days, there is OBB in our favorite park. What is the strategy now with pandemic scheduled crowds? Start at DCA and close DL on OBB days or are those days going to mean DCA is crowded? I am here now and don't even know if I can change park res this late in the game. I booked DCL for the OBB days on PH I could switch over at 1 but now I am wondering what I was even thinking??? I will oy be in DCA for 2 or 3 hours before I have to go back to DCL when they close for OBB.

If you have parkhoppers and start at Disneyland, then you will be able to go to DCA from 1pm-6pm on OBB days. If that’s not enough time, then see if you can change one of your days to start at DCA.

Building on OP’s question. I’ve seen reports of crowds streaming into DL when OBB starts, which is expected. But how is OBB affecting wait times/crowds at each park before the party? I am not sure where to start the day to maximize ride time.

What is DCL?

If I had a park hopper on a party night I’d start at DCA then hop to DL sometime before the party started and stay there for the rest of the day/night.

Ok. So here is what we did. We kept the DL open res, started there and it was great...until about 1 pm and then it got PACKED. We had already eaten snacks and meals at 4 different places and rose 8 rides by the time we bailed for DCA. Got there at 2:25, walked to GoG first thing to wait for the 3 pm switchover to "scary" and waited less than 5 mins on the wall out front in the shade with the CM yelling "Enjoy the park! Do NOT wait for the experience to re open! " there was about 20 of us there and by 2:35, we were walking into the video to see Rocket. There was walk up mobile order for Test Kitchen and Taste, too. We did those and rode Grizzly water thing then came back to the hotel to change and cool down. We are going to go back to the DL park in an hour to ride some more and watch fireworks then back to the room. Someone had said on one of the boards the best view for the projections wasn't where everyone else was and I can't remember where.

Tried both times RIGHT @ 7 and also at 12 and didn't get on either time for RotR. The CM in Ogas told me since it was my bday to go to the ride and ask nicely if they could make magic happen but I am too old to do that.

Thanks for the info! You should definitely ask, all they can do is say no and maybe you will get some pixie dust.
