Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party 2024

All this talk about the Pixar Pier entrance has me confused (it doesn't take much to confuse me). We'll be walking over from VDH...is there a better / closer entrance than walking all the way thru DS to the front entrance?

We will also be walking from there. It seems like either cutting through the Grand or taking the Pixar Pier entrance would save time.

We don't know where to find the Pixar Pier entrance - do you? We'd love to find a closer way. I didn't know we could go thru the Grand.

There is a pedestrian gate by the GCH vehicle entrance. You can go toward GCH or use the gate to the right, which is a path around GCH that leads to the PP entrance. Gate approx at red X and path marked in blue.

This will be our 1st OBB (going on Thursday). We have done MNSSHP 3x and have always dressed up as that's a big thing at MNSSHP so we brought costumes to wear. But we were were in CA yesterday and left just before the party started and I saw very few people in costumes. Nothing like you would see at MNSSHP. Now I'm worried about being one of the only ones in costumes. Do people here not dress up so much????? We'd like it to feel festive like MNSSHP. What's the percentage of people dressing up

Wear your costumes. It may seriously have been a fluke if you saw few people in costumes or it may be because the parties start so early this year like the thers said.

Even tiny costume parts will can you character interaction and extra candy. I posted in this thread about this I think - I went to see Madam Mim and my "costume" was her wig and a themed shirt. She freaked out when she saw me. I got the closest to a character picture you can hope for in a treat trail - see attachment. Agatha picked up on it too and sent me to spy on Mim's Coven. It was so funny.

Another year my friend and I were dressed as Si and Am. Well that was the plan, the heat ruined our make up. So it more or less ended up being random kitty cats if you were not paying close attention, but more than enough CMs and characters picked up on it. We sang their song like a gazillion times, and had the funniest interaction ever with Pluto. He was still at the Pirates treat trail in Disneyland Park that night. He saw us, jumped, ran behind one of those wall hangings and hid... only to push out a cannon and aim it at us! The whole line burst out laughing. So we had to show him we were good kitties.

Vala, how fun! We got a lot of attention from the Mad Hatter when we were the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat. And last year Judge Doom gave me special attention when I was the Judge with DH’s Mr Toad.

If anyone uses the GCH entrance with just an OBB ticket this year can you please report back how the line was and that you for sure do not need a regular park ticket to go through.

Also where the in park check in is to get your wristband

Sounds like our matching t-shirts will fit right in if most people will not be in full costume.

This year my wife and daughter have Minnie mouse type skirt red with white dots ,black T-shirt , white gloves , ears and yellow shoes. I have red shorts , black polo and yellow tie. More Disneybounding (I think they call it that when you just match colors to characters ) then full dress up

Pain and Panic confirmed for Fountain Meet. Also Hans, Sheriff of Nottingham and Hook. Hook I really can't grasp, especially after the negative feedback from last year. 'Others may stop by unannounced'.

Ember and Wade are replacing Carl and Russell at Pixar Pier.

Scarlet Witch is on Campus, along with Loki, Black Panther and most of the usual suspects.

Other than that no changes to the meet and greets from last year.

Okay so this is my first OBB in years. So apologies in advance if I am kicking the hornets nest here. So I am genuinely asking (though I have my suspicions right away). What was the neg feedback with Hook?

Like is this what I think it is and deals with disability? Or was this something else entirely?

(Also anyone have a list to last years M&Gs for that matter. I get theres a video up above. I really don't want to watch a 53 minute video if there's a list around. I get some of y'all go every year. But this is my first time since the innagural Oogie Boogie Bash back in 2019 and I remember like two of the meet and greets from then.)

Has anyone happened to track RSR wait times during the party? It’s 10 PM and the wait is only 15 minutes. I haven’t seen it get this low during the parties. I am wondering if it will be the same next month.

Thur Sept 28th .was a pretty warm day and we got changed at about 6pm as my son's outfit was a Jedi and had a robe to go over long sleeve and pants outfit

Hook's out regularly in the park even when it is not Halloweentime. There were quite a number of comments that special events should feature rare characters and not park regulars like him.

I love interacting with Hook too, but I can absolutely see where people are coming from there.

Also it really doesn't help if they have a regular switching off with a rare character. You'll suddenly have a surge of people offering "do you want to go first?" That is going to majorly screw up the lines. Happened at Villains Nite when everyone wanted Yzma and she was switching with the Old Hag, and Jafar who was switching with Live Action Maleficent.

The app is so bad for characters. We went on Sunday, so the very first party.

Besides the character trails, we saw:

• a few dif cars in costumes
• Lotso
• Joy
• Captain Hook
• Pain
• Hans
• Sherriff of Nottingham
• Minnie/Daisy/Clarabelle as the Sanderson sisters
• Frozone

Apparently the Hag was there somewhere but we never saw her, and google tells me of another bunch of characters like the Blue Fairy and the Stepsisters that were not on the app. No Maleficent, Evil Queen, Cruella, Dr Facilier, Jafar or even Gothel.

This is honestly my only thumbs down for the party. I would love something like the Minnie/Daisy/Clarabelle as the Sanderson sisters photo op with a few different villains in there. They hang out at parades and shows, let us take a picture with Maleficent and Evil Queen together.

We could also use more villains merch in general. But that's not party specific xD.
