Having a slight freak out.......

Im just trying to tidy up a few bits and bobs with only 24 days to go!!

I was just on the aer lingus website and when I booked my flights last year you could do onward check in with Virgin Atlantic........Now according to the website you cant??
There is 3 hours between the flights so I'm starting to freak out as it can be quite busy in gatwick right?? Will I have enough time to check in again in Gatwick and go through security?
If I did online check in with Virgin prior to the flight would that help?? As in check in with aer lingus in dublin, get to gatwick, pick up bags and just do bag drop as I will have already checked in online?? :worried:
(side note Im terrified of flying and it sounds silly but a little thing like this is making me so anxious I can feel my chest tighten at the thoughts of this :worried::worried::worried:)

Any help will be appreciated

When you check in in Dublin airport will they not do onward check in for your next flight. I'm flying with British airways next Tuesday and when we check in in Dublin we won't have to check in in gatwick. Just to add our flight is before 8am to London so we can now check in the night before between 4pm and 8pm it's a new thing they are doing it will make it better for us the next morning :). Sorry I can't help with the virgin flight I'm sure someone else might know :goodvibes

3 hours should be more than enough time to check in at Gatwick, but I can totally understand why you're worried. I think checking in online for the Virgin flight before you leave Dublin is probably smart because you can just do bag drop, but I would double check with Aer Lingus to see if there is anything they can do to get your bags checked through to Orlando.

Thanks a million for the help!! Going to call Aer Lingus this afternoon and double check.
Do you know off hand if the online check in with virgin is easily done?

Would love to know what Aer Lingus say. Hope you get sorted and that its all stress free x

Just off the phone with Aer lingus, spoke to a very nice lady called Paula.
Also, Aer lingus just reminded me of a flight time change so we dont have 3 hours between flights but 2 hours 25mins!

Anyway, the situation is, the bags are automatically transferred onwards for us from Dublin to Orlando, but as for check in and boarding passes with virgin she could not confirm that they will be able to do that but may be able to on the day.

My thoughts now are of calm......phew........so Im guessing my best option is as I thought, to check-in in Dublin as normal, then already have checked in with virgin the day before and printed off the boarding passes so we can just get on the connecting flight????

Does this sound ok??
