Onsite car rental

We are spending 4 days at Vero Beach in the middle of our vacation and will be renting a car for those days. I have rented from Alamo at the Swan/Dolphin (can't remember which) on prior visits and it worked well. Is it easier to get to the car care center for rentals? Any advice is welcome. We will be staying at SSR.

I think Alamo will send a car to pick you up at your resort if you call ahead and you can go to either location. You may also want to check Dollar which is located at the Regal Sun Resort on the corner of hotel plaza blvd. We used them when we stayed at SSR. We walked from the marketplace bus stop at DTD to get the car. It was very easy and the price was better than Alamo those trips. Be sure to check around and see if you can find some discount/promo numbers to use also.

I've rented from Avis before while staying at SSR. They are located in the Hilton across the street from downtown Disney. It was about a 15 minute walk from the Grandstand section. If you stay in Congess Park, it will be a much shorter walk.

Thank you for the suggestions. Got a great rate with Costco. Will check on Dollar and Avis rates. Will also follow-up re:asking for a p/u from Alamo.

We have rented from Avis at the Hilton while staying at SSR. We also rented from Dollar at the Regal Sun resort. Both are a very short walk from DTD.
I have noticed and heard others say that renting from Alamo at Disney is more expensive than renting from Alamo at the airport.
In fact I just checked and I am renting a midsize from Alamo at the airport for 5 days for a total of $76 and Alamo at Disney price is $294.00

So shop around it could make a big difference

We've often used the Avis location at the Hilton. Very convenient and they have a free courtesy shuttle to pick you up or return you to your hotel.

We rent from Alamo at the Dolphin every trip. Fast, easy, and we usually get a free upgrade.
