Okay friends here we go....

BRAND new to this board and a rookie when it comes to Disney. My wife and I are taking a 3 day trip to disneyland 8-12 July 2008! She is an old pro at it, though she took me for my very first time to any disney 2 years ago. (I'm 44)
She is 51 :)

We are taking NO kids except the ones within ourselves! I want to show her a good time. We are not big on itineraries, we usually just go here and there on a whim and that kind of thinking usually works very well for us. (Once I have it planned out months ahead:) Can you do that at DL? Her favorites are Cinderella and Tinkerbell. 2 years ago, we had a drawing of cinderella done and then took a picture of her and my wife (Lori) getting it autographed. Lori was in tears! It was a pretty neat thing.

I want to make this a special trip. Can anyone help me. We like searching for the not every day type things that are there in front of you. Is there a hall of presidents at DL? I would love to see that but saw nothing like it 2 years ago.

ANY help, advice, anything is greatly appreciated. We are staying at the Peacock Suites hotel and have a 3 day hopper.

THANKS!!
Roger

There is no Hall of Presidents at DL. There used to be Moments With Mr. Lincoln but that's no longer apart of DL.

You guys will have a great trip regardless!! You can always plan on doing a lunch/dinner at Ariels Grotto in hopes to see Cinderella there. Or go to princess fantasy faire (PFF) to see her in DL. There is a little shop in Fantasyland (cant remember the name of it) that paints names with characters on the letters. My sister got one for her twins, it is very cute. If you were walking from the tomorrowland side of the Matterhorn towards Its A Small World (currently closed for refurb), the little stand will be on your right hand side next to where they make slushy drinks. I always forget the name of that drink stand too, but they make Tinkerbell Twist drinks there, maybe she would like that too!!

If you need anything else, just ask!! We are always happy to help!!

Yes and no, CURRENTLY it is not apart of DL but Mr Lincoln will be back from what a CM told us, there is just no timetable set yet. But can say most likely not before this summer.

Currently Lincoln's home is the 50th anniversary display and movie with Steve Martin.

Have a great time! We so enjoy taking our children, but I dream of a day when my DH can go all on our own and be kids again all by ourselves!! *Someday*.....
My understanding is that there is to be some sort of Tinkerbelle meet'n'greet sort of thing this summer, so maybe you can get in on that? Plus, if they are still showing the "50 years" movie then, I am sure you would enjoy seeing that..... There are all kinds of little things to "discover" if you just wander and take your time.....:)

Hi, Roger,

Some of the best tips for planning are in Hydroguy's sticky thread at the top of this forum page. If you read that you'll get some great ideas for how to have a fun trip. I can certainly understand about wanting to ditch itineraries. I'm wondering if you want to do any rides, though. If you do, it's really worth it to do SOME planning and know how FastPass works, so that you can do fun stuff all day without standing in lines. With a bit of planning you can work it out so you never stand in line for more than 10-20 minutes, even on a busy day. From all I've read, doing DL without any plan can be very frustrating, especially on a crowded day. It doesn't have to be a commando style itinerary, more just getting there early and knowing what to do in what order. Then you'll have plenty of time left over in the late morning/afternoons to relax and go with the flow.

Anyway-- Hydroguy-- his tips rock! :thumbsup2 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

Have fun planning and have a great time!:goodvibes
