Online vs. phone res

I am planning a trip for next October and wanted to book through our AAA agent but I am afraid we will not be able to get as many as the reservations on the phone. I know I could have my agent make online reservations but I hate to rely on someone else to get up early and do these (I doubt they would anyway) Has anyone done the phone reservations lately or heard that they are getting a disadvantage? Thanks!

You'll want to check back next spring, just to get a feel on how things are going at that time, but as of right now it's best to try online yourself.

Online opens at 6:01 am eastern, and the phone opens at 7:00 eastern time, so anyone making reservations online currently has a one hour advantage.

Disney is famous for changing things up, so I wouldn't take the word of what I heard right now for next October. Check again next April and July to see what is what with Disney Dining Reservations.

One more question. Grandma and Grandpa will be going with us next fall and last year I booked reservations for all 7 of us. Can I book reservations for more than what is staying in our room (4) + Grandma and Grandpa?

The last time I checked, people were having trouble making online resies that had booked the trip with a travel agent. In order to book 90+10 you have to have your confirmation number and phone numer match. When you book with a travel agent, the phone numer they use is their contact number, so they don't match. This means that you can book your reservations, but only at the 90 day mark, giving everyone else 10 days to book ahead of you.

This probably won't make much of a difference if you're not going during free dining, but it will guarantee no chance at CRT or Le Cellier.

Personally, I have never used a travel agent. I like having control over my trip, and the planning is one of the best parts!

Good to know. Thanks for all the great info. I always like to share the wealth by allowing the agent to get a little something but with the online reservation, I think it might hinder my efforts to get some ressies that I want.
