Hi

Looking for some guidance here from my dis buddies, my prescription sunglasses of several years bit the dust recently and now I am in need of a new pair. The pair that broke were about $500 dollars:scared1: several years ago from the local optical center and I indulged myself with my flexible spending account. Alas, I now longer have that benefit and needless to say I am looking to get a decent pair on the cheap. Has anyone ever ordered online, I see lots of different places but not sure about what type of product and experience it might prove to be.

Thanks for your help. Looking forward to hearing about everyone's experience.

My DDs have ordered several pairs of glasses from Zenni and love them.

I've got an order ready to place this afternoon for 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses for myself. Everything included, it will be under $35 for both pairs!

My 16 old daughter wears glasses from Zenni. They are so affordable that you can buy multiples pairs. We will order from them again.

I have not ordered sunglasses, but regular prescription glasses from Zenni and had a good experience.

I have a strong prescription, and had to pay the extra lens fees, etc, but all said my most recent pair from them was still under $100 and would have been several hundred from a local optical place.

I will definitely be using them again in the future.

We have used both zenni and eyebuydirect. Both were great value. I now have 3 pairs of glasses+plus script sunglasses that I can rotate through. The cost of the 4 pairs was less than half of a pair from my eye clinic.

DH ordered several pairs from Zenni and does not like any of them. He is VERY picky and says the glasses are badly cut, show rainbows in the sunlight and are uncomfortable. Take his experience with a grain of salt. He is a diabetic and has some trouble with his eyes. The prices online cannot be beat.

I too recommend Zenni. I bought a cheap pair of regular glasses as a back up, and they have now become my full time glasses. Since I liked these so much I went ahead and ordered some sunglasses for around $50 (I'm picky about my sunglasses style) and am quite pleased with those as well. Although I will say, be careful of your width. The style I wanted in the sunglasses only came just a tad wider than what my measurements are, but I ordered them anyway. They are on the verge of being too wide for my face, but that is my fault.

I just got a pair from Zenni and love them. I looked at getting a place from where I get my annual pair of eyeglasses and it would have cost me over $250 to get prescription sunglasses. I love the pair from Zenni and they were $22.

I got my prescription sunglasses from Walmart for $100 and thought that was a great deal. I think I must try zenni.

How exactly does it work? I have my prescription but what about measurements?

Just be aware that Zenni ships out of China, and your glasses may get caught up in customs. My son's got caught up and we got them 3 months after ordering. Their customer service left a lot to be desired too. After sitting on the phone on hold for 25 minutes, I was told they didn't know when my glasses would get there, but they were "en route".

In the meantime, we used 39dollarglasses.com. Their glasses are made and shipped out of California. You can usually find a code to make the glasses $30 or less per pair. We got the glasses from them in less than a week.

I use them, and they cost about $49-$59 bucks before taxes. They are really cute and are based in the US. I have used EyeBuyDirect for regular (back-up)glasses and they work fine. Not for sunglasses.

I hope this helps.

I just ordered new prescription sunglasses from Zennioptical.com. Using the prescription offered by eye doctor, I chose an aviator one according to the frame size of previous pair. Very satisfied with the quality of the frame and the lenses as well as their live chat service.
