Hello UK and European fellows! I adress you this question as I think us, intercontinental travelers, don't have a car or don't want to rent a car in the US. I'm traveling to WDW in september/october with my boyfriend and we are not getting a car so I was thinking online grocery shopping at walmart, whole foods or amazon for things such as muffins (and other snacks and breakfast items), orange juice (gotta love those florida oranges!) and snacks for the park (Yes, as we are a young couple we are on a budget :( ). Can I order them say two days before my trip and adress them to my hotel (we'll be staying at POP century) even if we aren't in the hotel (let's say we are in the parks by that time) at the time the package arrives?
Thank you!

we have used garden grocer for five or our six trips and never had a bad experience. YOu can save a heap of dollars ordering your snacks and water from them as opposed to buying from the disney stores. We also buy american branded stuff not available here to bring home with us. Can't recommend them highly enough.

We walk over to the Hess garage at Downtown Disney. We get beer, wine, doughnuts, phone card, water (they keep 24 packs at the back), they have lots of different snacks. We then get the resort bus from Westside.

We've used garden grocer 4 times and they've been great. :)

Will continue to use them all the time we stay onsite and don't rent a car. :)

Do you have to be in your room when they deliver? Or will bell services just bring it to your room and leave it for you.:confused3

i've never had deliveries from garden grocer, but other deliveries have gone through bell services..

i'm going to use garden grocer this year for DD - she and DSIL drink mass quantities of bottled water, so i'll order them several cases of it for their room - along with some other stuff.
i just checked the garden grocer website and it's very easy to use!!

Another thumbs up for Garden Grocer here too! :D

I ordered twice, first time I was in the room. Second I wasn't and got back to find my order waiting for me downstairs :D

Thank you all! I'm right now looking for some goodies at garden grocer and check them ad my favorites (can you tell I'm exicted!!??)
I'll be ordering some stuff from amazon too as over $25 you get free shipping!

I hadn't thought of Amazon - might check it out myself.

Yes do! I'll buy some stuff there that I can't find at gardengrocer and also beverage packs (as they sell packages of 12, etc), I've read somewhere that someone had ordered from Amazon and had no problems at all, just had to write an email to the hotel to let them know.

you don't have to send an email to a WDW hotel to let them know..
you just have to put your name and arrival date in the shipping address...
that is - in the shipping address, you have the name and address of the resort and also your name and arrival date...

for our trip last year, i had 9 packages delivered to us at pop century..
4 of the packages were from amazon..
(and 1 from lands end, 1 from the company we rented iphones from, 1 from the disney store, 1 from a shoe company, and i can't remember where the last one was from)..

Thanks! Nice to know I don't have to call the hotel! You rented Iphones?? how cool is that, haven't thought about that! May I aks what was the name of the company? I'd love to check that out!

i have to look up the name from our paperwork from last year..
i'll find it and post the name for you..

we needed phones that had unlimited data coverage...
that's crucial for DH's work...
if we'd used our iphones it would have cost a fortune..
so we rented iphones that have unlimited voice and data service..

it wasn't cheap, but much cheaper than had we used our own..

Don't worry Beth, Reid already link me your post is www.rentcell.com . For us having internet in the phones is easier to communicate with my folks here in Italy as they both have facebook and I can send them a PM to tell them we are fine without calling them at 3am (here in Italy).

If you don't need to be in constant contact there is in room Wi-fi free at all Disney resorts so you could bring a laptop or iPad and use that (or even an iPhone or other smartphone) for Facebook.
