Online Free Dining...Does this look right?

Online, I booked Pop for 3 nights w/1 day hoppers and free dining for 1 adult and 3 kids. The total was $500.28. It doesn't seem as if they charged the adult double occupancy...maybe they did? BTW, the tickets were $219.

The price should work out to be... 3 nights @ rack rate for value season + the park ticket prices and that is it. If you were to add another adult, you would only be charged the cost of the park tickets.

Something's definitely wrong there. I doubt those are hoppers. 1A and 3C 1-day hoppers would be about $400.

If they are not hoppers but are base tickets, then something is still wrong -- you're paying to much for the room, unless those prices include tax. It's tough to say though without knowing what room category - is it standard? If its preferred, it looks about right, but again, $219 for the tickets doesn't make sense.

I agree. You're only getting base tickets for that price - not hoppers.

I ran 3 nights with base tickets during the Value Season:

Package Total: $505.65†

Disney's Pop Century Resort
Take the Virtual Tour
Arriving on 12/07/06 for 3 nights
1 Adult, 3 Children

Feel groovy on a nostalgic stroll through decades past in this rad Resort hotel that takes a colorful cruise from the 1950s through the 1990s.
Resort Category: Value
Room Type: Standard View Room
Ticket Type: 1-Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket
Package Type: Magic Your Way Package

There is a difference of a few bucks there, but WDW has this fuzzy math thing that I have never really been able to fully grasp. ;)

This looks like what you booked exactly, hezell123.

Just to emphasize that "fuzzy math"... This is the same type of reservation. It's Value Season, standard view, base tickets, 1 adult and 3 kids. This one is during free dining, however.
How can these be different prices? :confused3

Thanks for the replies...I'm sorry I meant they are just 1 day base tickets. Aug 13-16th standard room and includes tax.. I've run the same config. and I get anywhere from $500.28 up to $505...strange

The cost if I just booked room and tickets sep.

Pop std. Aug 13-16 $331.17 (includes tax)
1 day base (1ad. 3ch) $233.24 (includes tax)

Total $564.41

The exact same dates with free dining though is $500.28 (includes tax)

Being someone who like to know the exact cost break down, I know this is going to drive me nutty. Oh well, I guess I should be happy I'm saving an addtional $64.41! :teacher:

LOL! They backed up Value Season for the Value and Moderate Resorts when booked with this particular free dining package. Usually it runs from August 27 - October 4, instead of from the 13th that time of year. :)

I have noticed that since we booked on Apr 4, that value season pricing no longer applies before Aug 27. We booked, and paid 79 for Pop (Aug 22-30), but our in-laws booked on Apr 7 and paid 99 per night, the normal regular season rate. For those people travelling between Aug 13 and Aug 26, I think (I may be wrong) that Disney is no longer giving value season pricing for the rooms. That may be why some people have one price and other people have another. I have checked our EXACT package on the internet, and it is higher now by about $160 than the price we are paying.

Palendat, That is odd. When I play around with those dates for the free dining package, I get Value Season rates.
Your in-laws may want to make sure that they booked the free dining package specifically. If they booked the regular MYW package for those dates, then they will have to pay Regular season rates. *Plus*, they wouldn't get the free dining.
