Just ordered my first pair from Zenni on Sunday night.

I have a VERY strong RX and it came to $80.xx with shipping (I paid extra for the high index lenses and then they tacked on a $22 extra fee for the high RX strength). Regardless, $80 is far less than I would have spent at a local shop to get my glasses.

I keep checking online and they are still "in manufacturing." I hope they ship soon!

FWIW...the reason I was ordering a new pair is because the last pair I had (ordered from Walmart Vision about 3+ years ago) the anti reflective coating was peeling off. I lived with it for a long time, I could see fine, the only problem was that to others looking at me the glasses looked "dirty" because they glared where the coating was peeling off. I decided to try an online remedy I read about that suggested that Armour Etch would take the coating off in 5 mins or so...well after about (6) 5 mins applications I was getting annoyed. It was coming off, but slowly and I was having to "scratch" at it with my finger nail. I had also read online that toothpaste, because it has a fine grit, could help remove it. Well wouldn't you know the toothpaste worked great at removing it, but it also scratched the HECK out of the lenses.

Once again, Coastal Contacts has glasses for only $6.95! They also allow you to put in a .5 for the PD. Mine was 61.5, and I could put that in without problems.

also, I took my pairs to my opthamolgist to be checked and they were spot on. He was shocked when I told him they were from Zenni

I had the same experience. I had my son's glasses checked and they were fine too.

I tell you what has me reeling, is the price difference! The online optical places are making a profit at the prices they charge. There must be quite a profit for these glasses at the brick and mortar places! I would think in time, the brick and mortar places will have to come down in price to be able to compete with the online options!

Went to Sam's Club $425.00 sadly, did buy

Thought I would check out Zenni (for an extra pair)...........$95.

I have lots of extras on my lenses (progressive, transitional, extra sunglasses clips, that special coating) that is why Zenni was so expensive for me, but so much better than Sams or the optition

Zenni has provided a friend of mine with 2 pairs of glasses that he LOVES. He paid less than 30$ for both with shipping.

I got my DD 2 pairs from eyebuydirect.com about a month ago when they were on sale 2 for 1. $30.00 for both pair w/ free shipping. They called because the PD I gave them was so small. It is correct she has microcephaly (a small head). When I told them that the optometrist gave me the measurement and explained they were OK with it but I told them I would cancel if they did not feel they could make them correctly.
They are fine and she loves them. She is making a list now of other colors she wants and at that price she can have enough to match her outfits
