online checkin question

I was wondering if you decide to do the online check-in and you are planning on using Disney Dining Plan can you? I know that you pay for dining when you check in using DVC points how would this be done if you check in online? If you cant use the online check-in how early can you check in to your hotel, two members of the party will already by at Disney before I get there and they were hoping to check-in so that they can use the Dining points for breakfast the morning I arrive.

When we did online check-in, we still had to go through a separate line to get our room keys, so we paid for DDP at that time.

I'm not sure about the other questions, because we always arrive in the early afternoon.

When we were at AKV last week, our room was close to the lobby, so we were in and out at all hours of the day. I remember seeing people checking in as early as 7:00am and as late (or early, depending on how you look at it...) as 1:00am.

Did you mean that you want to pay with Disney Reward Dollars from the Disney Visa? DVC points can not be used to pay for the DDP.

You check in any time and I have done it as early as 7:00 am. The room was not ready but I got my keys and the DDP was activated.

When I went in August, I wanted to use my Disney Reward Dollars to pay for the DDP and did online check in. I entered a CC and then charged the plan to that (which I didn't know they would be doing). When I picked up my online things, I asked to have it changed and it was an easy fix.

Just so you know, when your guests arrive before you, they will have to pay for the DDP for everyone in your party--they can't just activate and pay for their own because they are there first.

Thanks for the answers I will actually be giving them my portion of the money for the dining plan before they head down to Disney. Also good to know that it shouldn't be a problem for them to be able to use the DDP for their breakfast that morning
