Online check in

What is the advantage of doing this? We are checking inon July 1st and our friends we are going with have done this should we do it also?

It will speed up your check-in a little bit. You will still have to wait in line to get to the check-in, though.

Online check in could shorten the length of time it takes to check in.

When you check in on-line, they will have your parking pass and Resort ID's (Key to The World Cards) pre-printed and ready to go. They will also have your credit card information.

So, in theory, you just stop at the appropriate window, and you are handed your information packet, and you are ready to go to your site.

In practice, this is not what always happens.

If you are checking into a campsite, they sometimes have one check-in lane designated as being for those who did on-line check in. The problem is that castmembers will often wave those doing a regular check-in into this lane, so you could still find yourself waiting for the person ahead of you to be checked in.

If you are checking into a cabin, same deal. They usually have a station in the Reception Outpost lobby designated for those who did online check in. But, if someone is there before you, you are going to have to wait. The last time I checked into a cabin, there was someone monopolizing the online check in castmember with a hundred questions, I completed my regular check in and was on my way before that guest was finished. Those waiting behind her got a bad deal.

In my experience, once you get to a castmember, the check-in process does not take long at all.

So, I have never done on-line check in.

And probably never will.

But, if you want to give it a whirl, it probably wouldn't hurt anything.

wow! i was just going to post this same question. I keep getting emails from disney practically begging for me to do online check-in and I wanted to know what the deal was.
