We are booked into AKV-Jambo in a value 1br and a value studio (I know, we could have jsut gotten a value 2br, but the studio party didn't decide to go until after we booked the 1br). Our online check in window starts tomorrow, and I'm not sure whether I should do it or wait and just check in the old fashioned way. Which would be better for avoiding the few parking lot view villas in the value category?

Also, I've not yet decided whether or not I want to put in any requests, but when would be the best time to do that if I do? The few parking lot views are at the end of the trail, so I was thinking of possibly requesting "close to lobby", which would mean Sunset savanna or pool view, but my DH is against this because it could potentially have us ending up in a pool view when Sunset savanna view is actually available. Any thoughts on this?

And finally, when should I call to make sure they have it noted that this is my DD's first trip and my parents' (the people in the studio) wedding anniversary trip? Will those details make it any more likely that they will avoid putting us in the parking lot view villas?

TIA!

You should make your requests with MS. Online check in doesn't seem to help you get your request, it only speeds the check in process a little bit.

If both of the rooms are under the same travel plan number, you will not be able to do on-line check-in. Rooms are pre-assigned so on-line check-in has no impact on your room assignment.

Thanks for the info, that may just make up my mind as to whether or not I want to put in req's! And weird about the online check in...both villas are showing up on my WDW website account, and there is a little reminder on every screen telling me that I can do online check in in 1 day :confused3

Anyone have any thoughts on notifying AKV of our "special occasions" (first trip, anniversary)?

If each villa was under a different reservation number, on-line check-in would work. But with DVC using a single travel plan number it breaks the on-line check-in process that was designed for Disney's cash guests (not DVC).

I don't believe you are allowed to make requests for Value View rooms. They quit doing that because so many were requesting the few savanna view value rooms.

Ah, I forgot about that! Yay for my mind being made up without me having to fret over it any more, lol :yay:
