Online ADR with Dining Plan for pre-paid meals

When I made ADR's for last year's trip, I had no trouble at all making them for CRT, then entering my CC for a guarantee only (since I was on the dining plan). I just tried the same thing for our upcoming trip, and ended up charged the full amount. I thought I had done what I needed to to associate the ADR with my Resort Reservation with dining plan, but it didn't work. I finally just got off the phone with them, where the cancelled it for me, put through a refund, then rebooked. Of course, I'm a little peeved as they can't promise me it the refund will hit the next billing cycle, although I'm sure the charge will. But I digress.......

For future reference, what is the RIGHT way to get the dining plan associated with what I'm doing so I don't get charged.

As the online system does not always work the way it is supposed to work, the only thing you can do is pay close attention to what you are being charged before you click on your acceptance for the reservation.

Well, I'm still perplexed by the dang thing. I tried to make one more ADR. I am signed in, and it says I'm making an ADR with the dining plan, and offers me a link to click if I want to disassociate it from my resort reservation (leading me to believe it IS currently associated). It also opened up my ADR window with the +10, leading me to believe it recognized my resort reservation. But then I move forward and it shows the screen with the full total and asks for my cc#.

this happened to me, too.

the charge was applied within seconds of making the reservation. but the refund... DAYS later. when i called to inquire, i was told 3-5 business days for the refund to be applied. it took the full five days. BUT, the CM that issued my refund did NOT tell me I could try to rebook without a full charge.. she said it was impossible even with dining plan and that there was nothing I could do. I questioned her over and over again.. she didn't budge.
