One-time-use point solution

I will be two points short on a upcoming reservation and really don't want to borrow any more points from another one of my contracts. Has anyone taken Disney up on the one-time-use point solution? If so I assume you pay once you make the reservation? The cost is $15.00 per point plus tax? and what is the actual name of the program? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you talking about the new program where you can "buy" up to 24 points from them to eliminate having to borrow? Is it really one-time? I did not see that in the literature. I believe it was a total of $15/point inclusive of taxes.

The one-time-use points you only get once in your use year. You may not bank them. With tax they are $15.00 a point. You can only do this once a use year and they can not be split up. For example you cannot purchase 2 now and then in the same use year decide you need to purchase 5 more. You cannot be on a waitlist to use them and you can only purchase what you need to for that reservation. For example you cannot decide to purchase all 24 now and then use 2 and save the rest for another reservation. It was very simple to do, they just get your credit card info at the time of ressie.
In a new use year you can do it all again. I hope this helps.

The only other piece is that you can't use them until the 7 month mark. If you are booking your trip at 11 months, you won't have the option at that time.

I did this today. I needed 5 points in order to add another night at SSR in a 2 br for our July trip. It was easy. The MScast member had another person come on the line to take my credit card info. charge it, then transferred it into our acct. Then the MS cast member came back online and added the night. It was easy.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am considering adding one additional night to our ressie next March and am short 1 point so this would be the perfect option for me.

Yep, did it last week for our Jan 2011 stay. I needed 5 points so I just bought them through this new program.
