So I have 2 DVC contracts. One that is a boulder ridge resale and one that is a direct purchase at AKL. If I need to buy 4 additional points to use to complete a reservation at Riviera will those points work if purchased from Disney as one time use points? Or are they restricted from use at the Riviera?

The catch would be if you need to use both the BRV resale and the direct AKL plus some one-time use points to book your planned Riviera stay.

You can only use the direct AKL contract to book Riviera and a maximum of 24 OTU points at $19pp per year. You'll be fine if you need fewer than 24 OTU points to add to your AKL contract for the booking.

To use a resale contract to book Riviera, it must be a Riviera resale. ETA: Ulp! Marionnette's right. Your resale is a no-go if purchased after that date, otherwise usable. Sorry.

OTUPs are not restricted to only the L14 resorts because they are developer points. They can be used at RIV at 7 months out to book a reservation. And as you probably already know, your resale BRV points are restricted if they were purchased after 1/19/2019.

As long as you have points eligible for booking RIV…your AKV points…you can buy OTU points to add to those to complete the booking.

Perfect, thanks everyone! I have my stay at Riv booked with my AKL points I just wanted to add one more night but I won’t be able to borrow enough from the AKL contract so the one time purchase is what I’ll need. Thanks!
