One splurge at Boulangerie Patisserie?

Too tough to pick 1 -- my faves are chocolate eclair, napoleon, apple tart, and creme brulee.

Here's our plate of treats from last June...

DH and my mom had the eclairs. DD & DS had the cookies (& shared w/ baby DS). My dad had the treat in the top righthand corner (can't remember what it was), & I had the strawberry tart!

Love those tarts!! :lovestruc

 the Lemon Merengue Tart!!!

I have no idea how many points are in it, I follow WW as well, so you would think I would want to share in order to cut back. But NO ONE eats a bite of that dessert!

The one your dad had, top right-hand corner, is my beloved almond pithivier!

I love this thing that I have NO Idea what it is called.

It's kind of like a cannoli but the pastery is much lighter. The cream inside is more like butter.

Only thing I get any more.

(If someone knows the name of this, please let me know)

The strawberry tart.

I am such a chocolate person. I mean who wants something healthy like fruit with dessert. But my daughter picked this a few years ago while I got something chocolate. And after she insisted that I try a bite - I was hooked. It is to die for!

Definitely not a sweet item but I LOVE the cheese plate there! Oh my goodness, tried it on my last trip and I'm daydreaming about getting to have it on my next trip!

i know this is a little off topic but did your cheese plate happen to include the goat cheese they serve at le chefs de france? i could live on that alone lol.

also my family have been on a mediterranean area/asian type diet for almost a year (started late april 2010) and one member on weight watchers. when we went to wdw for a week just after last thanksgiving we actually found if we made smart choices in our meal choices we could relax and splurge a little on a dessert here and there. we basically broke even on our weight when we got home so just not gaining was a positive for us. hang in there and good luck.

I'm on Weight Watchers, and have been looking at the menus online, planning out my trip.

I've decided to splurge on ONE thing at Boulangerie Patisserie, what do you recommend? EVERYTHING looks so good!!

You didn't tell us what floats your boat? Do you love savory/salty vs. sweet vs. chocolate, which deserves its own classification? ;)

You could put a fruit tart under my nose and I wouldn't want to inhale it whole. I'm not easily tempted by that. However, I have enjoyed their quiche, and I do try not to inhale their chocolate pastries, even though I want to!

It's subjective and all a crapshoot. Just pick what you hanker for and go for it. :)

The almond pastry I think you are trying to name is a pithivier. I love almond flavor, and this is absolutely yummy. I will definitely get one next time I'm there! :)

I agree!:cloud9: I love the pithivier or Napolean.

Strawberry Tart. It has an apricot glaze on top, and creme on the bottom. It's amazing.

I don't remember a goat cheese on the plate. There was Swiss, Brie and another one (I think I read somewhere it was Muenster, it tasted similar to a very creamy, soft cheddar almost, but it didn't taste at all like goat cheese to me).

Oh man, I've been counting the days until we go back just so I can get a strawberry tart. I loved it!

I"m going to go against the grain here and tell you that I have officially crossed the French bakery off of my must-eat-at-list. I have gone every single time and I have been consistently disappointed. I just don't feel like it's worth the calories.
Instead I get myself a funnel cake at America, and chocolates in England.
