"This was so much better without Mommy!"![]()
I think I posted this a while back, but it bears repeating.
Pop Warner family checking in at POR; never been to the World before. Wife and son outside by the Marina and see the water taxi that goes to DTD; I am sitting on one of the rockers just outside the door to check-in. Husband emerges through door with daughter and check-in package in hand.
Husband - Honey, we have to go back inside to catch a bus.
Wife - we want to take that boat to Walt Disney World.
Husband - we have to go out front to a bus.
Wife - but we want to take the boat to Walt Disney World.
Husband (out of ear shot of kids now standing at the Marina, but right next to me). You are not going to believe, we are IN Walt Disney World. This hotel is in Disney World. We are staying at Walt Disney World.
And get this, there are four parks, FOUR PARKS. We have to take a bus out front to get to the parks. We have to take the right bus to get to the right park. And there are two water parks, two water parks.
Wife looks dazed.
Husband - You wouldn't believe how f****** big this place is. I don't know what we have gotten ourselves into this week.....
Wife - but what about the boat?
Husband - we will figure that out later.
We were on a bus LATE at night, coming from MK and everyone on the bus was obviously exhausted. We went by the McDonalds that is on property. Immediately a small child starting screaming at the top of her lungs "I want McDonalds, I want McDonalds, I want McDonalds...." This went on for the REST of the ride.
How could anyone who had been at MK until 11pm want McDonalds???
On our honeymoon DH and I were eating at Boma. There was a nearby table with two boys and their parents. They boys were maybe 7 and 9 and were just fighting, aggravating one another, typical kid stuff. The dad had brought a plate of zebra domes back to the table but requested the boys finish some of their other food first, and I guess the the older boy must have been harassing or taunting the younger one with the idea that he would eat them all. The next thing I heard very loudly was,
"DAAAAAD! Justin won't stop licking the zebra balls!"
DH spit out his coke and started dying of laughter. I had tears streaming down my face from trying to hold it together!
Person next to me in the stretching room at HM - "It's an elevator, that's how you get to the ride!".
When a nice lady kept telling her son that the Harry Potter stuff must be at the other park. FOR REAL!!! btw she didn't mean Universal.![]()
You've never had a midnight snack in your life? McDonald's is something familiar to children, who might be overwhelmed by everything at disney. Some kids are also very picky about what they eat, and will only eat at places like McDonald's. Heck, my Brother-in law, who's 40, is still that way.
How do people spend so much money on a vacation and not do any research? It baffles me. I am spending thousands of dollars on absolutely nothing that I don't have a pretty good understanding of...expect of course orthodontics.

There was an English gentleman and his son, who was around 9-10 behind us in line. The son constantly harrangued his father about not getting a fast pass and the father kept replying that fast passes cost extra and he had already paid enough to get in the park. The son kept insisting that fast passes were free, but never could convince the father and I didn't have the heart to turn around and tell the father the truth. lol
