We're looking at spending our last night on the islands at Aulani. Wow - not cheap $660 per night. So any recommendations for a couple with no kids? We'll have explored the islands already, but want to get the most our of our Aulani experience! What say you?

This may be stating the obvious, but I'd say just spend every second of time you can there. Check in at 6 am or something and don't leave until time to leave the island. Try all the restaurants (I'd personally do Makahiki dinner and AMA AMA breakfast), check out the pool/slides/lazy river, day AND night, take the resort tours, catch a story, and don't waste a bunch of time sleeping!! LOL Oh yeah, and a pic with Mickey!!

Yeah - that's the plan. We'll get in before noon and won't need to leave until 7ish pm the next day. I'll take any "musts" for a quick day experience!

On our first trip we went for 2 nights and felt like we got to do everything. Like above, I would suggest eating at Makahiki and AMA AMA. If you are trying to save money I would suggest going to AMA AMA for breakfast or lunch, since dinner is very pricey. If they have some sort of evening show I would suggest going to that as well (they had the Starlit Hui the first time we went but I think that might be gone now.) Make sure to check out the lazy river, water slides and beach. There is also an adults only pool area with a nearby bar. They spa is also very nice if you are into that.

...and I'm most likely stuck with the $660 price tag for the night during the spring high season, right?

You could try to rent DVC points. A Friday night the end of March/beginning of April would cost you $374 for a standard hotel room or $408 for a standard view studio. That's the quote through David's. You would need to contact them to check availability.

That's right - I'd forgotten all about that process (did this at DW a number of years ago)! Thanks for the reminder!

aston Waikiki circle oceanfront room, funky hotel ,great location across from the beach, small rooms, million dollar view. Make sure it is oceanfront

BTW - A BIG "thank you" for the reminder - I got a studio DVC for about $275 less than the hotel room! Once again the DIS boards are worth their weight in gold!!!
