one night, no parks...which of these would you try for?

In July we got to stay at the VGF for the first time for one night in a studio the night before our cruise. We are cruising again next June and I thought we would do the same thing...pick a resort we have never stayed in and spend one night. We didn't do any parks, just enjoyed the resort. This would be 7 months out as our home resort is SSR.
If we can get a studio, which one would you try for?

OKW (thought we could go to Disney Springs on the boat)
BCV (nice pools, Boardwalk amenities)
Copper Creek (stayed at Boulder Ridge way back when)

Not OKW...easy enough to get for multi-night stay. BCV & CCV can be harder to get for more than one night so I'd stay at one of those.

I would suggest animal Kingdom Lodges. Try for Jambo House as the first choice and Kidani as the second. Both are excellent resorts. You would not necessarily be any farther from Disney springs then if you stayed at any of the other resorts, Not counting old Key West or Saratoga.

Animal kingdom Lodges is a beautiful well appointed resort. The biggest knock on it has always simply been that it is not as close to a park as the monorail resorts or the Crescent Lake resorts. Those resorts all have fairly easy access to at least one park. However, since you don’t plan to go to a park I think animal Kingdom Lodge is is a good choice and then try dinner at Sanaa, Jiko or Boma.

Personally I find animal Kingdom Lodges to be a great resort and have not felt like the travel time to and from anywhere else was any kind of factor at all. Unless you are used to staying on the boardwalk or on the monorail line I don’t think those other resorts have any significant advantage and animal Kingdom Lodge is certainly has its own.

I would recommend BCV for a one night non park stay. I’ve never stayed in the villas at beach club, but have heard good things. The pool is amazing, as is the waterslide and there’s so much to do on the boardwalk. Good luck with your chosing!

I have to say Copper Creek. There is enough to do there that you won't miss going to a park. And you are close enough to see some of the MK fireworks. You are only a boat ride away from the Contemporary where you can catch the monorail and go to any of the resorts around the MK. Geyser Point is also very nice for a light meal, drinks, relaxation and catching the water pageant. Also - WL is my favorite of all the resorts with BRV being my first home resort.

I vote for Copper Creek too. It just opened in 2017. The rooms are smaller than BRV but they are well organized. You can book a studio with only a shower or a regular studio with tub/shower. There is a new pool between the two DVC resorts call Boulder Ridge Cove, it is much larger than the Hidden Springs pool and has bathrooms with shower and changing area. Plus Geyser Point is a nice place for a quick meal, or just for pre or post dinner drinks.

Both BCV and CCV are hard to get though. We have a wait list for BCV for 3 days in February and I am doubting it will come through. I own at CCV so that is a different situation that what you might find at the 7 month mark. Good luck with either one. With only one night you will definitely have a very good chance.

You can always Disney spring it on the bus but imo DS is like going to an outdoor mall anywhere in the USA (with good restaurants).

I enjoy SAB, BCV would be MY first choice, CC next, then OKW.

I feel that about Disney Springs. Haven't been there in our last two trips. The shops I liked that were by the bus stop are now a good walk from the new bus stops. At least when we stayed at VGF I got my Basin fix right there!
