One more sleep, live updates with pictures

Hi, I am enjoying reading along. You say you are going to Give Kids the World. Are you volunteering or visiting? I volunteered there last month with my daughter on our trip to Orlando. It was amazing and a highlight of the holiday. Have a great time!

We are visiting, we stayed there in May 2012, best experience ever! We return every time we are in the area. Great thing volunteering, must be really rewarding x

Great pictures, great children! The pic of the plane made me feel really in the mood!! We have stayed in a 1 bed in SSR in the past, didn't realise how roomy the studios are, looks fab. Will definitely think about using our DVC point on studios in the future. Loving the updates!

I am impressed, we have three cases, a disabled buggy etc and there is plenty of room. We were a little worried after staying in OKW where the rooms are bigger but the sofa bed is really comfy, even for me!

Ohh how lovely and your children are so handsome. Love the plane picture. Always like to see a pic of the plane. Glad you like SSR. Looking forward to reading more

Ha, ha! Looks are so deceiving ;-) I have stayed in a lot of Disney hotels, all grades and I will always have a soft spot for POP purely for the theming and fun environment but I feel so relaxed here x

Well I didn't get much sleep, I finally gave up at 5am US time and did some ironing! I am paying for it now though, I am ready for bed for the boys are having none of it. We went to Chef Mickeys at 8.45am this morning, it was really relaxing, not the normal loud, chaotic experience we are used too! We were sat on the side though, maybe an advantage? Food was nothing to rave about but I don't think people come here expecting it to be about the food. Seeing the boys faces and excitement makes it all worthwhile. Got some lovely pictures which I'll load when I get back as I took the posh camera. It was pretty busy in Magic Kingdom today, especially for a quiet day! Fast passes worked out well and we had done all the rides we had wanted to by 2.15pm and headed back to the hotel for some late lunch and a swim.

Really enjoying your trip report. We go on 7th August and haven't really got into super planning mode yet, maybe because we are going to Majorca at the weekend for school holidays. So when we get back will be all systems go.
We love SSR and have stayed 3 times. Our favourite pool was Grandstand and we had our room in the block right next to it each time.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

how does GKTW work? do you pay? do you apply to go there? are you referred? it looks like a really lovely place!!
a friend of mine's granddaughter was there last year on a make a wish trip (the granddaughter was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was a year old.
She just celebrated her 5th birthday!!! (she still has cancer, but with treatments they've managed to keep it under control)

We are in room 8147 same building, perfect location. We have walked to paddock and springs a few times, doesn't take long at all. Really like this place, surprised myself. Have fun planning x

We were referred by Charlie's consultant as at the time things weren't looking great but thankfully things are better under control now. It's all complementary but we would happily pay to go there as it really is the perfect retreat and something we will always remember. We visit each time manly to see Charlie's star in the church, if the worst ever happened then a little piece of Charlie would always remain in Disney. I always believe in miracles, glad your friends granddaughter is still fighting on x

Today is was Ethan's Birthday, my baby turned 10 ... Mummy feels old!
We spent the day in Universal Studios and we had a great day! Minion 3d was looking at 75 minute waiting times a at some points throughout the day. My favourite ride was definitely Men in Black, I love that ride!

On the way home we stopped at TGI Fridays near Seaworld and had a lovely birthday meal, definitely the better one of them all, $13 for a lovely steak and two sides.

It's been pretty hot, high of 93 today! Tomorrow we are having a lazy day in blizzard beach followed by Yachtsman Steakhouse :-)

We have been in Florida for 4 times for my sons birthday and will be there for his 14th this year but at the beach instead of Orlando. We love Men in Black. My son worked out years ago how to get the 100,000 bonus points but I never seem to manage it so always lose!
We'll checkout TGI fridays when we are there, only been to I Drive one once and it was very good.
Enjoy Blizzard Beach. Lost count of the hours we have spent in the kids section there. Last year was the first year my son was too big for the zip wire which he absolutely loved. The first time he went we had to pick him up so he could hold on. Time flies!

We ate at that TGI's in feb, we loved it too.
Will you or your son be braving Summit Plummit?

You know what pop was our 1st onsite stay, " I had been to disney every yr since I was 2 and had never stayed onsite until we took our boys at 1,1,3" we loved it!! Couldn't understand all the complaints thought it was amazing' I cried walking into the lobby! 2 years later we stayed there with family for our wedding at the grand floridian even though we could have afforded any hotel it held a special place for us....
We have now stayed at Akl poly Ssr and Aoa and the boys now 9,9,11 still ask to go visit pop! :)

Didn't set the alarm on Thursday and had a lovely lie in, got to Blizzard Beach just gone 10.30am and Tikes Peak was already full! We managed to find one sunbed and a few chairs on the sand just behind the main wave pool. I wanted to catch a bit of sun but as the day went on I was quite glad we were in the shade as temperatures soared past 100•f! Blizzard Beach is my favourite water park but I need to push myself to visit typhoon lagoon again too. There is so much for the little ones to do as well as grown ups. We spent a good hour on the lazy river, the boys love it and I was glad of the relax! We did team boat springs a few times but it was manic as everything was dancing about and cutting in the queue to get off the hot floor, beach shoes are a must here this time of the year ... Lesson learnt! In the evening we went to Yachtsman Steakhouse, steak was out of this world! I had the New York strip steak with twice baked potato, this was a bit rich for me but lovely nevertheless. Dessert was also lovely, chocolate peanut cake ... Yum!

Last time we went we did a few days at Treasure Island/St Petes. We will definitely do this again next time.
Do you know what, all the times I have been on this ride I only found out about the bonus this trip, needless to say I had the best score MIB! The new Minion and Transformers are good fun too :-)

Charlie is only 6 but cried his eyes out as he wanted to do summit plummit, he is more adventurous that his older brother by far!

Friday was Hollywood Studios, got there just after 9am and was greeted by the storm troopers! I am not a big sci fi fan but I love Star Wars weekends here, it's such fun.
Today was another hot one, Charlie rode TOT for the first time and loved it but sulked as he isn't tall enough for Aerosmith but Ethan got to ride it twice with us.
We had lunch at Pizza Planet which was the boys request, Charlie doesn't eat much and has nutrition drinks but this holiday he has ate the most I have ever known! For dessert they had the Darth Vader chocolate peanut cupcake which we all shared, it was delicious and enough to share, the thing was huge! We did a few rides including our favourite Toy Story Mania then headed back about 2pm to cool off in the pool.

Tonight we headed to Ragland Road, another of our favourites. The boys really enjoyed the entertainment, Charlie especially so, we had to come back and you tube videos of Ragland road dancers, lol! Ethan has the fish and this was exceptional, I was gutted that I ventured for the steak!
