Hi All

Any recent cruisers have experience with party members checking in at different times.
I am thinking of having my wife drop me off early to see if there are any upgrades available and then having her and our son meet me later so they don't have to hang around for as long.

I know the whole process for upgrades but have heard the rules have changed about allowing one member to check in

TIA :3dglasses

Purely basing this on my own assumptions, but I would have thought each party would have to check-in together at the port since you will have one signed check-in form for your stateroom (which DCL keeps). I don't know how it would work for one guest to check-in when the form covers all guests. Happy to be corrected, I learn a lot from this website :)

I checked in with my kids (and boarded) while my husband returned the rental car. We had pre-printed the forms and both signed them, so I was able to check in for all of us (and I had his passport). The front desk held his KTTW card, he used his driver's license for ID to get the card and board with it...

Well, what are they going to be doing during the in-between time? Unless your son is of an age of staying at the hotel room, both will have to get up and bring you there, and then they...go back to the hotel room? Call me crazy, but I'd rather hang out in the cruise terminal than in my hotel room. :)

You're crazy. :p I'd rather kick back in a hotel room, where I can sit in comfort, use my own bathroom and maybe get a snack or drink, than stand in the cruise terminal and twiddle my thumbs. :rolleyes1
OP, if you are staying so close to the terminal that your wife can drop you off and go back to the hotel room, why don't you take a cab there? It'd only be a few dollars and would make you look like an even more awesome husband. :thumbsup2
And my family checked in without me when I returned the rental car.
