The City of Anaheim gets major kudos for the bautifcation of the major streets. We were really impressed. Although a lot of the area surrounding Disney still needs improvement, at least that 15% hotel tax (the highest in the nation I heard) is finally being put to some good use.

The last time we visited Disneyland was about 5 years ago, and being used to WDW, we were very surprised at the surrounding area of Disneyland. During our May trip, it was a completely different sight. As you mentioned, some more work to do but what a great change in the right direction!

I agree as well.

I was very impressed this past April, they had done a ton compared to just one year earlier. Makes the whole area seem more like a "destination." Much cleaner, nice to walk around.

I would agree that the surrounding area is looking better than I can remember.

Did anyone notice the farming property just south of the resort area on Harbor Blvd?? I could not believe that there could be any property left that was not developed for tourism. But there it is, a huge parcel of farm land.

When I was in Anaheim 3 weeks ago,a shuttle bus driver made the remark when we went by the property in question that the owner had resisted for years selling to Disney, but apparantly the offer was so good, they will sell and a water park may be in the works.
