We're getting really close....

DP and I are headed to WDW the end of next week -

We check in to AKL Concierge Level for one night before heading to PC for a week on the Magic...

The question is: If you had One Day at WDW what would you do?

We're not heading to parks as we were just there in the spring and will be back again next spring and summer -

So what Disney activity would you want to do with one day on property?

One day on property and no parks??? Is that the deal...

I would spend the morning enjoying AKL, then afternoon at DTD, with Cirque at night... (and right now I think that there are $50 Cat. 2 tickets for Cirque)

Play tennis.
Take a bike ride around Fort Wilderness campground.
Take a boat ride from DTD to Dixie Landings and back.(I do not call it Port Orleans, will always be a different resort to me)
Take a couple of golf clubs and balls, chip and putt around the putting green at one of the golf clubs.
Tour the other resorts.
Pool hop.
Tour DTD.
Have an after dinner whirlpool.
Listen to the musicians at GF Lobby, Port Orleans and/or Dixie Landings Lounges.
Sit out by one of the quite pools and enjoy a drink.

With only one day at my disposal and no parks, I would just enjoy the resort(s). Maybe squeeze a DTD visit for an ice-cream sundae at Ghirardelli! :) We love the Boardwalk so we'd go there for the evening, when things come to life there...lol

Be sure and take advantage of the concierge lounge ammenities, Happy hour with wine, beer, and appetizers. Desserts with cordials after where ever you choose to have dinner. Find a spot to watch the fireworks and get a good nights rest before your cruise. Oh yeah, have a great time.

The ideal day :

Stay at SSR and get the first tee time at LBV golf course. Play a 4 hour round with my wife. Hopefully that would have us done by 11:00 am. Head back to the resort and take a swim. Walk over to DTD and head for a few beers and lunch at Raglan Road.

Back to the resort to spend the afternoon at the pool relaxing. Dinner would be at Artists Point (Wilderness Lodge). Hit a show at the House of Blues if something good was playing. If not, I saw someone mention Cirque - we have never been to that show, so that would be something to do as well.

Get my wife a Sundae at Ghirdelli's and myself a nightcap at Raglan Road. That would be a great day for me at Disney

You're staying at AKL concierge. What more do you need? :goodvibes I'd just spend the day at the resort taking part in all it has to offer, including the Wanyama safari!

Cirque du Soleil is simply world-class entertainment, Orlando or Las Vegas. For two people. the cost is not terrible, and you are saving park tickets after all. Golf, a swim, Raglan Road, and you have conversation for several days!

Enjoy Jambo House Concierge/Pool/Eat at Jiko - considering where you are staying. So Jealous! Have fun! What Magic cruise is it? Have fun!!!

Last Friday DH and I were at AKV concierge and we did nothing special. We enjoyed the spas, pool, did the culinary visit of Jiko and Boma - little tour that is offered daily, and enjoyed the concierge offerings. I love Jambo's ambiance and don't need any other activities. For us, it was a perfect resort day, and can't wait to chill out at AKV concierge again!

Bobbi:goodvibes

The Winter Summerland minature golf couse is fun too. The summer side especially has quite a few funny jokes interspersed with the course (like a sign at the swimming hole to Beware of Yule Tides).

Thanks so much for all of your great tips and suggestions....

We're leaning toward -

Relaxing by the pool and exploring more of AKL (the culinary tour sounds AMAZING as Boma is DP favorite restaurant at WDW)...

Relax and enjoy the concierge treats

A trip to DTD for some last minute things for the cruise (probably bath salts), maybe some Ice Cream at Ghiradelli....

Would love to do miniature golf....

Afraid we'd sleep through Cirque as we've got a crazy week of travel and our flight in ....(we've done Cirque once but would love again)

Thanks again for all the great suggestions!

BTW, the Magic cruise is the 7 day Western Caribbean - Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay!
