Hi all, we'll be visiting Disney for a short trip in January, and with very young children plan only to go to MK this time. We plan to go two days in a row, which I suppose means buying two one-day passes will be the best choice. I know we can get a discount on second day tickets while in the park on our first day, but what is the best way to get our first-day passes? Should you get them in advance (or can you), and is it much trouble to buy tickets at the gate or is there a way to bypass that and go straight into MK? (We're staying on-site, Wilderness cabin.)

Thanks so much-- what a huge help this community is!

I believe the only place to purchase 1-day/1-park tickets is at the gate. I have no idea how long you are staying at FW, but if it's a short stay of three nights, you can also buy two day UPH passes that'll at least let you park hop. That's what we did during a short three night stay at the Dolphin once.

I agree with Geoff. If you are staying onsite I would look into the UPH's. That way you would have a little more flexibility.

Thanks y'all--I'll consider the UPH passes. Great idea.

One other possible UPH benefit, if you're lucky enough to be there during an E-night, you'd qualify since you'd have a multi-day pass.

2 day/2 park tickets will cost you $105.43 adult/$84.14 child.

2 day/1 night UPH's will cost $132.06 adult/$106.50 child.

You need to decide whether the additional $26.63 adult/$22.36 child per person is worth it to you just to be able to park hop.

1 day/1 park, 2 day/2 park and 3 day/3 park tickets can be purchased at your resort Guest Services as well as at the park ticket booths or Guest Relations.

Excellent info, GoldenOldie-- as it stands we're going to Hoop Dee Do Review one night and probably the marshmallow roast/movie at Wilderness Campground the other anyway, so going elsewhere at night is likely unnecessary. My children are ages 4 and 6, never been to Disney, so I think MK at an easy pace over about 1.5 days will be enough for them this time without worrying about getting to other parks. We'll make a bigger splash in a couple of years when they're a little older and we have more time and $$!

Thanks much again--
JT

Quick addition-- as we're traveling so off-season, the parks will likely shut down at 5 p.m. anyway (unless it happens to be e-night as Geoff pointed out). Early closing will kind of put an early cap on our park-touring--

My wife and I and our two sons who will be 2 1/2 and 4 are also going to WDWin January. We're stayng at the Contemporary from Jan. 1st-3rd and also intend to only visit one park, MK on Jan. 2nd. If, and its a big if, the kids seem all right with one park, we might try to visit MGM on Jan. 3rd for the playhouse disney show and similar attractions. I had the same question regarding tickets and also intend to buy the one day/one park or two day/two park tickets. You mentioned e-nights, do you know how far in advance Disney publishes e-night nights?

Hi Golfmaven, yours sounds like a great plan. Why don't you start a new thread for your question about e-nights? Bet it would catch lots of eyes, and Geoff who mentioned e-nights earlier on this thread might be more likely to see it. Î'll be looking forward to hearing that answer myself! :)
