One day rental

I'll be in OKW from 6/20 -6/25, but thinking of renting for a day to head over to Cape Canaveral, has anybody ever rented for a day?
Where would I go, and can I drop off the car on the same day.

You can do a one-day rental (usually this covers a full 24 hours of use, but you can certainly return the car earlier; you will pay for the full day in any case after about 2 hours of use in most cases). It's usually most convenient to pick up the car one day and return it by the same time on the next day. Both National and Alamo are at the Car Care Center and at the Dolphin. I think they are also in one of the hotels in the hotel plaza near Downtown Disney. They provide shuttle service to the Car Care Center and perhaps to the other locations as well. A number of other rental companies have desks at one or another of the hotels in the hotel plaza. You would have to check the individual web sites to determine which company is at which hotel. I always use National.

For example, using the Priceless Vacations code for a one-day intermediate car on June 23rd picked-up and dropped-off at the WDW Car Care Center, I get a rate of $32.56 including all taxes and fees. This is for unlimited mileage. The base rate is $28.03 per day.

We have rented a car for a 24 hour period, when we cruised. We used AVIS and dropped it off at the AVIS in Cape Canaveral. Doing it again in August.

I'm pretty sure there is an Avis, Budget and Hertz and maybe even a National by the Port
