I may be looking in the wrong place and thats why I can't find my answer.....If I want to rent a car for a grocery store trip, what can I expect to pay?

Wondering if it is worth the rental or just pay for delivery :confused3

Are you planning on going to the store on the first day of the trip?

We are looking to do this too. From what I have found in looking around it looks like our best bet is to pick up a rental at the airport the day we land. Go get groceries that evening and then DH is going to take the car the next day over to Lake Buena Vista Wyndham and drop it off. He can then walk across the street to Downtown Disney and catch a bus back to us. We have to rent from Dollar doing this and the rate right now is $35. We would pay more than that for delivery and I this way I get make the purchases myself. Having to do a list makes me nervous, I am certain to forget something...where if I go I may see that one item that I would have forgot to add to my list.

This will be my Dsis and her family's first trip so she will be wanting souveniers. We don't really get them anymore. I told her Walmart has a lot of items that will be much cheaper than buying them in the parks.

I am curious to see what info you find or if anyone has thoughts on our plan.

Have you looked at Garden Grocer? The prices are a little higher but you wouldnt have to leave Disney. My brother used them this week and said it was a wonderful experience (they have two little ones 3/5).

Another, albeit expensive option is Happy Limo. They will stop by a grocery store on the way to the resort. I think their rate is $68. Certainly more expensive than the one day rental mentioned above, but keeps you from having to drive and from having to drop off the car.

I would just go with a grocery delivery service. Yes there is a delivery charge, but you don't spend precious park time in a grocery store, and you can have the order delivered while you're in a park. Much cheaper than renting a car.
