How would you use one day park hopper tickets? We will be at WDW for 2 days (April 26th & 27th) and have one day tickets that we are considering upgrading to hoppers. The 26th we had planned on spending at DTD and POR and the 27th we had planned on MK but now I am thinking of upgrading so that we can visit Epcot and eat dinner there. I considered springing for another day of tix but it seems a waste since our flight lands at 10:30 and then we have to get a rental and make the drive from MCO to WDW to check-in at POR, etc. I have 2 boys that are both 11 right now and are not interested in the smaller attractions/rides. We have a lunch ressie at BOG and I have already made our FP+ options but I will change them if we decide to hop. We embark on the Disney Magic on the 28th so we will have some time to relax on our vacation if we decide to hop. So tell me, what would you do?

Honestly, I would not pay for hoppers just to eat dinner at Epcot. I might change my mind if the kids really wanted to ride a particular ride at another park, but not to sit in a restaurant (just my family's preference). If we truly only had one day, we would spend every second at MK and just get CS for dinner.

4 Parks/1 Day-Rope Drop Magic Kingdom, BOG Lunch, FP+ Hollywood Studios, Post-Parade Animal Kingdom, Epcot Dinner, Rope Rise Epcot.
Lunch at BOG, Dinner at Epcot, and the boys get to ride the bigger attractions/rides as you wish.

The 26th we had planned on spending at DTD and POR.
We love hanging out at the Resort and DTD.

Disney Cruise is our favorite Disney vacation.

So tell me, what would you do?

It wouldn't strictly be for dinner. As I mentioned, it would be for visiting Epcot and dinner. By visiting, I mean riding a couple of rides.

This sounds awesome! I will definitely check out your report.:thumbsup2 I'm hoping FL weather is better than what we've been having here....

My DH and I did a one day park hopper when he was working in Tampa and I told him I couldn't be in Florida and not visit the mouse.

We started off in MK and since it was misting and it was January, we got to pretty much walk on everything. After lunch around one or so, we went to HS and rode ToT, Aerosmith, and Star Tours. We then took the boat to Epcot and rode Soarin, Test Track, Spaceship Earth then walked around WS until closing.

We absolutely LOVE DCL. I'm so looking forward to our next cruise in November.
I hope you have a great time!

I would do the hopper, but I would still consider a two-day base ticket. MK closes at 11 pm both days you are there. Even though you land at 10:30 am, you could still feasibly get to MK by 1:30/2 pm, giving you up to 9 hours in MK (with 3 FP+) on your first day and a whole day at EP (with another 3 FP+) the next. My only reservation on the hopper is the current FP+ situation and the tiering at EP. Until they change FP+ so you can hop with it or add more after the original three have been used, it is going to be tough to ride both headliners at EP in the afternoon without a big wait at the headliner (Soarin' or TT) that you don't have a FP+ for. If you do two days, you end up with 3 FP+ at both MK and EP, cutting your potential wait times down substantially. Just my two cents.

For one day I would not spend the time hopping and would just chill at MK and see that well, nor would I want to spend $35 pp to go to another park just to eat dinner.

Enjoy the cruise =)

disneyworld.com has MK with EMH until 1am on 4/27. So you could do the Epcot evening and hustle over to MK. Even if that takes an hour after Illuminations you could still have 2 1/2 hours of ride time at MK. Since regular closing isn't until 11, you could still catch the second showing of MSEP.
I don't have experience with late EMHs, so I have no idea how much you could get done with rides during that period.

My reservation with the hopping is the travel time between parks. That can eat up a lot of your day, especially with 3 or 4 transfers during park hours. I'd be more likely to choose 2 of the 4 parks. Rope drop and end my day at MK with lunch to close at another park where I used FP+.
