Give it to me straight!

We are arriving one day earlier than the rest of our party (due to us flying and them driving).

I need to book one night (first day of our vacation) and am debating the best option.

We have a 10 day rental at Windsor Hills and I do have the option of adding the extra day at the beginning and paying for one extra day.

IF I were to book one night at a Disney Springs hotel (which is the other option I'm considering), would this give me the option of booking FP's 60 days out since it is an onsite hotel?
Plus it would be cheaper for me.

And, if staying at a Disney Springs Hotel, are they close enough to just walk to Disney Springs and not have to drive?

THANKS!

I just looked and see that they offer shuttles to Disney Springs every 30 minutes so that answers that part of my question :)

Yes. When your FP window opens 60 days out from check-in, you’ll be able to book FPs for your check-in and checkout dates.

Then, 60 days out from each remaining offsite park day, you’ll be able to book your FPs. So, each day you’ll be booking a day of FPs for the remainder of you park days.

do you mean 30 days out for the remaining dates (after check out)?
Our first park day to book FP's would be the day after our check out day.

So the 60 day FP window would be of no benefit to us for this stay because we are not going to the parks on our check in or check out date??

I do mean 60. :)

The window rolls forward with each true offsite park day. That’s why I bolded 60 for you. ;)

You can refer to the FP FAQ Sticky on the Theme Parks board. The Split Stay section explains the same info - I did write that section. :)

thanks,
I will go check that out now.

So it would have two benefits- 60 day FP's AND cheaper on the bank account.
And, closer to Disney Springs (which is where we planned on going on our first night there alone) :)

You can walk to Disney Springs as well as take a bus.
