one day car rental

I read some where on here that you can do a rental thats less than 24hrs for really cheap. We are goin on a cruise in sept and staying at wdw 2 days before. We are looking at renting a car to drive from mco to pt canaveral and returning then doing another rental from pt canaveral to mco. Any help would be appreciated! thanks!!

I just booked two 24-hour one-way car rentals for MCO-port and port-MCO. The rate was the same for anything under 24 hours.

My experience was using my AAA rate with Hertz (and AAA's free car seat) for a midsize car from MCO-port for $48, and then Avis for a midsize car from port-MCO (and paying for car seat) also for $48.

As the cruise gets closer, I'll look for other coupons or deals, but for now these rates are not bad and will still allow money to be spent on a hotel room for the night before, and still be less than or around what we were going to pay for the Disney ground transportation back and forth.

We usually rent through Budget--they seem to have the best one way rates and their MCO location is onsight and Canaveral is quite close to the port with a good shuttle service.
We have paid between $28 and $35 for a one day rental (including tax but not the toll transponder (I think that is $5 extra plus toll costs and we feel it is worth it). We get a compact (not economy--not enough luggage room) or midsize. I think we paid $33 in December and that was for a midsize. We probably booked it using a walmart code, but I am not sure. Thanks everyone! We were going to use cruise transport, but getting back to the airport, lugging our stuff through the airport etc etc and it 70pp round trip for 4 people We had talked about doing a towncar for simplicity and that would be 135 round trip, but we could rent a car for about 1/2 that price. Is it an easy drive to port or should we just do the town car?

It is an easy drive. If you have time to kill before your flight it gives you the flexibility to go to a store or play mini golf or what not before heading to the airport too.
