Our last day is a Saturday and I was thinking of renting a car to do the beaches and surrounding area just for the day. I was going to just rent it from Paradise Pier - just for the convenience however the office hours on Saturday only go until 2:00 p.m. I have done this several times in the past but never on a Saturday (with much shorter hours). Our flight home is not until much later that night - does anybody know if they have after hours drop off (where you just bring it back later and drop off the keys ?)

Could you return it to the airport instead (if you don't mind keeping the car that long)?

I looked at renting a car for the day and even on weekdays it looks like most rental agencies near Disneyland close at 6 PM. With the traffic in the area, we decided to do something else because we don't want to pay for overnight parking and then have to deal with the return the next morning during a park day.

I was going to rent a car from Paradise Pier and I thought I recall there being an after hours drop off. We’ve decided to rent a car for the entire week instead from the airport.

When the location was in DTD there was definitely an after hours drop off slot.

It was pretty heavily used last time we rented from there. I would be surprised if a hotel location would not have it.

You used to be able to drop off after hours at the old DTD location, so I’m sure there is an option in PP. best to call and ask.

April 2019, the last time we returned after hours, it was the same program as the DTD location.
The gate attendant will tell you where to park the car after hours (either DTD parking or the PPH garage). Then drop the keys in the slot at the Alamo office. I always take a few pics of the mileage and the car, undamaged, in the parking spot.

I've returned to Alamo/DTD after hours a few (several?) times and never had an issue with billing,

We did one day rentals to get from LAX and back as it was the cheapest transport option for us. We dropped off at Paradise pier after Alamo had closed on the Sunday - the attendant told us where to go (level 4) and then we dropped the keys off at the front desk of the hotel and they took care of it for us. No issues at all once we figured out we had to go to the hotel parking lot!
