*One-Day Base Ticket Exchange Question...

I have purchased a Magic Your Way package, with dining. Since I had to purchase one-day base tickets, which I don't need, I have a question.

I have read that I can apply the tickets to an upgrade on multi-day tickets or an annual pass. Can I keep the ticket, or voucher, or whatever I get for a future trip, or do I need to pay for the non-expiry option to exchange them in the future?

Did my question make any sense at all? :confused3

We were told that even if we use it the price we paid for our 3 day fl. resident tickets would be applied to our season pass. Use the tickets and then get the pass later.

With the one day tickets I am pretty sure that you cannot use them and then upgrade them. With the tickets with more days you might be able to do so. I think the new tickets expire 14 days after you first use them (muti day tickets)

I plan to keep my one day tickets and use them toward our next AP's.

I am sure someone with more knowledge will respond soon.

Best wishes and smiles, Slightly Goofy

While this is technically true the seasonal pass will be backdated to your first entry into the park with that ticket and if it is on a day the seasonal pass is not avialable you will only be able to upgrade to the regular annual pass (FL resident price).

You can apply the value of partially used PH & MYW tix to "upgrade" purchases, including APs.

Note that WDW has a complicated system of "valuation" wherein you don't get credit for the non-expiration feature $ cost & if you had plus options, no credit there for unused ones either. Addiitonally you must always buy a more expensive tix than the original (more days or options). Check out allears for a section on tix for a comprehensive explanation.

You can call ticket research @ 407-566-4685 for more information.

Interestingly enough, the CM's I spoke to are split on whether you can use a 1 day tix that is personalized on a resort stay card in the future w/o proper photo id (i.e. pass it on to another person).

That's a different case. A 3 day FL resident pass can be upgraded for six months. But your AP expires a year from the first day you used the three day pass.

A regular MYW ticket can be upgraded up to 14 days after it has been used.

I think in the case of the OP, she would have to make it non-expiring, but not 100% positive.

Thats not true. Went for one day in July. After I used my ticket, I upgraded to Seasonal pass even though it was black out time.

She should not have to get the non-expiry. The one-day ticket will not be used and will not expire until it is used - multi-day tickets expire 14 days after first use, but the clock doesn't start until you use the ticket for the first time, not from when you buy it. Non-expiry is only necessary if you're going to partially use a multi-day ticket on one trip and want to save the rest of the days on the ticket for a future trip.

Short answer is yes, you can apply the cost of your one-day ticket to a future, more expensive ticket. You'll get credit for whatever the ticket cost as part of the package - I'm not sure how they value that exactly - and not specifically for one day. For example, if your ticket cost $50 for a one-day ticket, you will get credit for $50, not for the first day of a 6-day ticket.

mousesavers.com or perhaps allearsnet.com should have good explanations of the mechanics of all this.
