One day at GF, no parks, what non-fancy restaurant?

We got one night in a studio at the GF DVC villas the night before our cruise. We aren't going to any parks, and we don't want to go nuts at restaurants because I'm sure we will eat quite a bit on our cruise.
I've eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe and that was good. I was thinking of getting dinner either there or at Kona at the Poly.
Any other suggestions? Since I only have one night to experience GF (the one I have always dreamed about) I don't want to stray from the monorail area.

The Grand Floridian Cafe is really good. I think if I was only staying one night, I wouldn't want to go to a different resort. I would soak what I could of GF.

I would just stay at GF. I would eat a snack at the pool bar, another later snack at the lounge (jazz) and eat GF quick service. Enjoy the GF and people watch

I would just stay at GF. I think GF Cafe is very good or even just eat outside at Gasparilla's and enjoy the view! Or, from VGF, it is a very nice walk over to Poly for Kona, but I prefer the food at GF.

Kona has always been excellent for us. Ohana is always fun but not for everyone. My other pick would be The Wave at Contemporary.

The Wave at the Contemporary, or Grand Floridian Cafe, or Kona at the Poly.

I would book the Grand Floridian Cafe. It is pretty, the food is good and reasonable priced. And you do not need to leave the resort.

If the weather is nice, grabbing lobster sliders or a crab cake sandwich with the homemade chips and sitting by the Beach pool is lovely. Or maybe getting something from Gasparilla's and sitting outside to gaze over at the castle.

I've only eaten breakfast at the GF Cafe, but it was quite good, and I imagine dinner would be as well.

If drinks and small plates sound good, give Mizner's a try.

If you've only got one night at the Grand and it's your dream to stay there, I say soak in everything it has to offer. Our last trip to Disney was our first stay at the VGF, and it was so wonderful. The resort nearly outshone the parks for us. My parents used to swear the resort didn't make a difference since "you only sleep, bathe, and eat there." They've admitted since staying at the Grand that they were mistaken, LOL. It makes a difference!

Thanks for the feedback! We have ruled out 1900 Park Fare, Narcoosees and Citricos because it's too much before a cruise. We have eaten in the past at 1900 and narcoosee's and they were awesome. At this point I think we will stay with the GF food!

I would do Kona for breakfast in the AM. Not on the monorail but it is a boatride, what about Trails End at Fort Wilderness. That's something different.

We will be getting picked up at 930 and eating a big brunch on the ship (or at least that is the plan) so if we get any breakfast it will just be at gasparillas! But I do want to check out Trail's End sometime!

It's really easy to walk to the Polynesian from the GFV. Maybe five minutes. Every time we stay at GFV we get a reservation for 'Ohana and walk there and back.

This sounds exactly like how we do our pre-cruise nights!
How about:
the sushi bar at the Poly
The Tiki Terrace at the Poly. This is one of our favorite spots o property: outdoors, live entertainment, great snacks and apps. Tasty bevs, too.
Geyser Point at the WL if you’re willing to hop on a boat
We also love the Contemporary Cafe at CR with the monorail whizzing by overhead. The seasonal cupcakes are amazing
