We'll be at Magic Kingdom for one day in May with our 18 month old. Most of the activities we'll be planning will be centered around her, but my husband has never been to WDW and I'd like him to experience one "adult" ride. I was thinking Space Mountain might be our best choice? We're staying in a WDW resort so Extra Magic Hours could help here. Any one have any other input? It's been about 10 years since I've visited so I'm a little rusty here ;) Thanks!

Utilize Rider Switch and your husband, and you, can experience 2 "adult" rides.

Book a FP for your husband for Space and when he enters the FP line, he requests a Rider Switch pass. After he rides, you will ride by entering the FP line with the Switch pass.

Book a FP for yourself for BTMRR and follow the above ^ plan.

Of the rides with height restrictions, Space is generally most thrilling.

Splash Mountain is nice if he'd want a water ride.

Of course, do as many non-height restricted attractions as you can handle, Buzz, POTC, HM..

If you can only have one, I would nominate Space Mountain, Splash Mountain (my favorite), and Thunder Mountain. You can look at the descriptions and maybe see You Tube videos and decide which one he would like best. Space is the only one open during EMH.

If you aren't planning on taking your child on Haunted Mansion, I would nominate that one too. It isn't a thrill ride, but it is, in my opinion, the best and most uniquely Disney attraction at the MK.

How about Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. Those your 18 mo can go on so you won't need to split up. Adult is a perspective I guess..I consider Jungle Cruise "adult" as the jokes usually are more appreciated by older persons and "get" them. Im sure whatever you choose will be great!

Rider switch is definitely something we'll utilize-I don't want to miss out either! I think we'll take our chances with no FP on Space, trying to get there during the Extra Magic Hour. Then maybe use our 4th FP later in the day for BTMRR? I've got 3 reserved already, ending at 1 pm.

I keep skipping over Haunted Mansion! I wouldn't mind taking the little one on that ride, she loved Halloween last year. I'll have to keep it in mind :)

I'm thinking mostly a thrill ride, we're already planning on taking her on the Jungle Cruise and Pirates. She'll love the animals on the Jungle Cruise, and she'll be fine through Pirates. I don't mind splitting up and doing rider switch so we can both go on a thrill ride.

You will have a better chance of getting a "kid's" ride at 1:00.

I'd pre-book a BTMRR combo (split w/another thrill ride). The Swap rider can ride later in the day.

Looking at FP for today at 11:40 ET, there are no longer BTMRR FP slots available for a party of one. It is Spring break but even in May, the more popular rides may not be available for FP booking as your 4th especially when 4th FP from the app becomes available.

For me it would be BTMMR. So, that's my suggestion.

THIS!

If he's never been, don't ignore the classic rides!!
My choices for an "adult" ride would be either Splash or Big Thunder.

For me, Splash Mountain is the most magical "thrill attraction". You get your moneys worth- all kind of theming, animatronics, a decent ride length, and a nice plunge at the end where you generally get a refreshing spray of water (but not a complete soaking that will stay with you all day). If I can only do one, this is it.

Thunder Mountain/Space Mountain are honestly very basic "beginniners" coasters just boosted by cool scenery (thunder) or by taking place in a dark environment, and both are over in like a minute once you are on. Space is the zippier of the two and further aided by the dark if thrills are your number one priority.

EMH early or late? If late, Thunder or Splash after dark. Space is also fun, but if he has any issues with back or neck, very jerky. The one drop in the middle would be painful.

My husband's favorite ride was Haunted Mansion!
He also loved Pirates.
We did a rider swap for Space but I think he was a little dissapointed.

Splash would be a great choice. Such an amazing ride! And the view at night at the top of the drop is magical.

Splash Mountain for sure. The theming is so Disney and it's a fun ride. Space Mountain is dark and jerky

When is one an adult when in the Magic Kingdom? However, I understand what you are saying, and I would agree with Splash Mountain and I really enjoy BTMRR.
