... Is it wise to get back in touch about a month or so before the big day to send through any pictures / ideas you have, or is this not necessary and can it be done on the day?

I'm thinking specifically photography, videography and cosmetology.....

I was planning on doing that.

I was in contact here and there with my photographer, I did double check my hair/make-up lady because I had to add a girl and I never contacted the video person after I paid the balance off. I was a little too relaxed with the whole wedding and I wouldn't recommed it! I did not have any problems but it certainly wouldn't hurt to follow-up and make sure everyone is on the same page

I plan on following up. I know Misty has a website and when you book you get a log in for that site, but I still plan on contacting her anyway.

I'm still working on the officiant and hair/make-up, but plan on doing the same with them as well.

I'm planning to be in touch about a month ahead in September. :thumbsup2 So that sounds about right.

I definitely suggest following up. About a month or so beforehand is good I'd say. I definitely would NOT plan on going over stuff the day of. You will just have too much on your mind plus you want to try and ENJOY your day! :goodvibes
I sent Patricia pictures of my hair and makeup inspiration and also make sure to BRING pictures with you as well for your hair/makeup in case they didn't print them out to bring etc. I talked to Randy a few times beforehand just to discuss what we wanted from him in general, but didn't do a list and now am thinking I should have because a few pics were not done (like me and my mom for instance)...
With Stan, I got a form like 2 weeks before the wedding but you can also always call or e-mail your videographer.
Your officiant as well, don't forget! Basically I just made sure I had some sort of contact with them all about a month before the wedding (I wrote in my planner/datebook so I knew when to call/e-mail).

HTH!
