Once Upon A Time Season 4 "Let's Hope You Didn't Bring Anything ELSA Back"

Ok...I have less than 24 hours to watch the second half of season two and all of season three. I kick myself for not watching this sooner!

Dumb question alert! My mom (who has seen Frozen and loved it) is braving OUAT for the upcoming Frozen storyline. How much does she need to know or can she come in blind and be fine? I'm going to find the show's wiki for her too.

There's a show that will be airing prior to once upon a time called once upon a time Storybrooke has frozen over. I just saw it tonight and it does a pretty good job of explaining the premise of the show. It will be on again tomorrow. I think if she watches that first she will have the general idea of what's going on. It's kind of a synopsis of the last 3 seasons and kind of recaps who all the characters are.

Thanks for the scoop on the special lizabu and I'm also going to fill in any blanks as needed during the season.

Marking my place - had to DVR the episodes and getting ready to start them now

Awesome job with Frozen...loved it. Of course, I enjoyed the usual suspects too! ;)

Loved the episode. I have not watched from the beginning, but I have been watching since they were in Neverland. I love all the characters. I love the way that they are weaving the story of Frozen into this series.

I watched the show, before the show, and it was indeed very informative.

I think they have done a good job casting both Anna and Elsa.

Next week looks awesome but a great set up episode for the arc.

Loved it, I wish it would have been a 2 hour premiere though because it was over too soon.

I think my favorite part was the beauty and the beast dance.

Ok, so I haven't read any comments yet, because I don't want any influence before I write about my first reaction...because it's a mixed reaction...I love Frozen and have no issue with them using it. BUT I think it was TOO Frozen. Usually he beauty of the show is the way they take a story we know so well and spin it, and then they make it exciting to find the little references they make to the original. But this was just straight up Frozen...and too much of it, not enough of the original characters. I didn't need the trolls and snow monster at all.
With that being said, I do like the story they set up with Anna going missing, and I think the girls are playing the characters really well. Loved the Belle and Rumple dancing scene, and I'm excited about the sorcerer's hat. I'm not totally sure how I feel about where Regina's going, but I *think* I like it.
Ok, now to see what everyone else thought. :)

This was a great episode and the beauty and the beast dance was my favorite also. Actually teared up a bit. :goodvibes

I loved the premiere! I think they set up an interesting plot with Anna going missing and the previews for next week look amazing! I was also like OMG when the sorcerer apprentice hat was revealed and also was surprised when Regina wanted to rewrite the book to give villians their happy ending. I honestly think that is going to open up a can of worms and more OMG moments lol

Loved it! Seemed like it was over in 5 minutes! Hook is as hot as ever!

I am very interested to see who wrote/is writing the book!

Me too. It also had me wondering, will Regina revert Pinocchio back to August, since he was able to add to the book, he must have some insight as to who wrote it originally.

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing. Most of the fairy tales in OUAT are "twisted" so you're never quite sure where they're going with it. I was a little disappointed that they were sticking so closely to the Frozen story line.

Then again, this was just the first episode; maybe the twists will be coming soon.

And the Sorcerer's Hat shows up? I suppose Mickey, Minnie and Donald will be next! How "Disney" can this show get??

We haven't seen August/Pinocchio for a long time. Did the actor get another role? I agree that August knows the author of the book. Maybe Gepetto wrote the book? He's good at pulling strings. ;) (Bad pun, I know)

I loved it. The creators have said from the beginning that the Frozen arc was going to be more of a continuation of the movie than re-visiting it so it makes sense that they kept close to the movie characters. I really liked seeing the bits from the movie in live-action form. My heart broke for Regina.

I enjoyed it and I thought Anna and Elsa were very well cast. One of the things that I am not crazy about with OUAT is all the CGI and how so many of the scenes look fake because of it. I would rather them dial it down, BUT, I was very impressed with the CGI Troll. :thumbsup2 And I love it when John Rhys-Davies is in a movie/show . . . brings the level of quality up. :goodvibes

Did anyone notice that Neal wasn't even shown or mentioned the least in the pre-show catch up episode. Ouch!
