On a happier note, I finally finished the FE to surprise my in-laws with for the cruise! I did just buy some purple ribbon so I'll swap that out for the ribbon I have on it now! Part of it is a little crooked but the tensioner on my sewing machine was going cuckoo.

Here is the one we used on the last cruise...we'll use it again this time!

When do people usually get their cruise documents? I am thinking we should all be getting ours pretty soon. Yes? I haven't ever been on a cruise but I know I always get my resort documents about a month out. We are close to that on the cruise and I am getting anxious. I think my mailman is beginning to wonder if I'm stalking him. :lmao:

It should be any day now. I got all my ME stuff yesterday so it's getting close! :teacher:

I still think it looks great!

would lile to ask everyone to please keep my dmil in your prayers. She was just admitted to the hospital for blood clots in her lungs....this happens after we just made final payment yesterday on the pool home we are renting with them the week before the cruise.

:grouphug: Prayers. She should be ok to go. I had one in 2003 and now I just take extra precautions when I travel.

How is she doing today?

Thank you everyone. She is currently in the hospital and is on 2 different medications to thin her blood and break up the clots. if they do not work she will go itno ICU and gon on a superstrong type of medication. She will be in the hospital for atleast 3-5 days and maybe longer. They said she is very fortunate that she came in when she did as it was pretty close to her heart. apparently she had been having shortness of breath since Sunday but did not want to go to the Dr.'s. My dfil called the Dr. yesterday around 10a.m. and they told her to go immediately to the ER.
I pray she is okay...we plan to leave to drive down in 1 month on Oct. 8th.

Last year was the 1st vacay we took with them and she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer 2 weeks before we left and had a hyterectomy when we got back home from the trip. She had breast cancer about 7 years ago, so she's had a tough couple of years. They really deserve to have this extra special vacation for the anniversary.

I thought I was done with my FE gifts too...until they got ruined. Now I have to try and remake them all!

Oh no...that stinks that they got ruined. I would be upset too because my FE's took me a while to make. Look on the bright side of things.....October is coming...who hoo!!!!!

The address is in the DCL FAQ sticky at the top of the regular Disney Cruise Line Page:
Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Thanks a bunch.....I knew I can count on you. You have been so helpful!!!! Thanks for making my first disney dis boards experience a pleasant one!!!

I am saying many prayers and sending positive energy her way. Please keep us posted.

Thanks. Things are not looking so great. She is responding to the meds. but they found more clots in her leg and the one she has near her heart is very big. Not sure how many days it will take for it to dissolve. Even if she gets out of the hospital in a week we don't think she will be cleared for travel by Oct. 8th.

We are unfortunately thinking my in-laws will not be cruising with us :sad1:
and if they don't go we don't go as we can only have 4 in our room...1 of our kids is booked in their room.

We don't have an extra $1100 to pay them for their part of the cruise. Right now I am trying to find 2 people in my family or friends who could potentially take their place but I don't even know if names/people can be changed at this point. We do have trip insurance but I'm not sure if we should cancel now, get 50% back from DCL and then file for the other 50% through trip ins. or if we should wait and then cancel and lose all $ from dcl and then file for trip insurance.
Very sad right now.:sad2:

Sorry to hear about the health of you MIL. Try to call DCL, explain your situation, and see if you can get upgraded to a room that will fit your family. They might be able to help you. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
