Do you have to sign up early to attend any of the onboard movies or live shows?

Nope but if you want a good seat it’s good to show up about 20 minutes early. Doors for the shows open 30 minutes before.
Don’t waste your time going to see a movie. So much to do and see. Your theatre at home will have better seats and better theatre. That’s just my opinion lots of people go see a movie on DCL.

I suppose that's really up to each person. The Buena Vista theater on the Dream class ships is pretty much the same as any other movie theater. The BV on the Magic class, while a bit more of a challenge, is still nice.

One of our cruises that's what our goal was, to see the movies (it was a particularly good cruise with lots of new movies on it). I think we saw 5 or six of them on a 7 night cruise.

I think the pp was talking about how the ship's theater's don't have the nice reclining seats that most theaters now have. At least all the theaters where we live all have the reclining seats. Sitting in the seats in the ship's theaters aren't nearly as comfy once you get used to the reclining ones with the foot rests. I've only seen one movie while on a cruise, but I rarely go to the movies at home either. My dh always goes to several while cruising. We have a SW cruise next month, so my dh will see the new movie on the SWDAS.

Well, the Dream class ships do have nice rocking seats. Not truly "reclining" but they'll do. I think a movie theater with reclining seats with foot rests is odd, I've never seen that.

They may seem odd to you, but once you watch a movie in them(especially a long one) you will LOVE them. I remember as a kid going to a theater that had the rocking seats, it was new and exciting. Most of the time my parents would put us kids in our pjs and we'd go to a drive-in movie, followed by A&W drive in for a root beer. We loved that.
