We didn't exchange gifts BUT the day before we got married, the doorbell rang as family was arriving from all over the place (in and out of state) and there stood the florist with the biggest arrangement of beautiful red roses. 
The card said "Will you marry me tomorrow?" I about lost it. As did my entire family. I still have that card that went with those flowers in a frame. That will be 29 years ago this OCT!!!
