On the road to a healthy ME! Jog along with me!

Thank you Jamie!

She is still feeling a bit under the weather. Says she can't lose the sore thoart. If it is still there after her trip to the zoo with friends tomorrow, I will have to take her to the dr. The entire family has allergies, and hers are worse at this time. Maybe time to put her on adult antihistamine rather than child.

Well, I was off and didn't journal for a few days. I worked 15 hours one day, and then 10 the next. The 10 hour day was at a different store because they fired someone. Not the best time to lose management. Summer is coming up and tourism will increase. Well, maybe tourism will increase. Hard to say with gas nearly 3 bucks a gallon. I certainly don't go very far with that kind of price.

Diet hasn't been it's best. Of course I am only eating a single meal a day the last 3 days. And a snack. Of course, it was ice cream yesterday and today. :sad2: But I just think of the last room with boxes to organize and the house will be done. Well, 2 minor closets to dust. I once again am bribing myself into working :lmao: At 45 you would think I would be over it!

Well, looks like tread mill is going to have to be my friend this week. I was so looking forward to being able to go down to the pier and walk. Isn't is spring yet? Oh wait, it is Michigan!

A few more posts, and treadmill time before the family all tracks back home and needs attention. DH has the laundry under control, so that isn't an issue today.

Off and running!

Best to all and great losses!

Wendy

Sounds like things are busy as usual! Retail & tourism - doesn't sound like much fun sometimes!

You mentioned your DD, knee pain & orthotics in her shoes. My DD has constant knee pain. Dr's basically say nothing they can do anything about or can see. Makes me wonder.

Hope DDs throat is better. Allergies are SUCH a pain!

Have a great week!

Hi Wendy!

Too bad the weather isn't cooperating for you. I like to walk outdoors so much better also. It sounds like you live somewhere near the water. Do you get the chance to walk there often? I just love to walk near the ocean, river or pond...whatever body of water that I can find. I pass a nice park on my way home that has a stream and the path is very close to a well-traveled road, so I feel safe there. DH also meets me occasionally.

Hope all is well with your family, and enjoy your week off! Denise

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post, as I am off to bible study.

Family is doing good. DD feels better. DS did burn his arm at work bad enough I took him to the ER last night. He says he isn't sure how he even did it. Dr was just as confused as I was. :confused3

Weather was nice this afternoon. Outside walk with dog. She loved it!

I will catch up later, probably tomorrow. Even with a week off, I feel behind!

Wendy

Hi all

I have been logging my food intake on a calorie counter these last few days. I am overwhlemed by some things. Such as Sunday I had less than 900 calories. Now on Monday, I had nearly 1600. I don't feel I ate more or less either day, it was just that Monday was a dine out meal rather than in home. Good thing I am not doing much of that. We used to, but we have really cut down. Too costly, both money wise and health wise.

The weather is yuky today. It is suppose to snow tomorrow, well, this is Michigan! The midwest can have all four seasons in one week! Even two in one day!

DD's friend is coming over today. That will be nice. They both are readers, so I imagine some of the afternoon will be very quiet. :yay:

DS had burned his arm and it looks worse today than the day he did it. He has to go back tomorrow morning. It is really ugly. We are washing it and putting on antibiotic cream and silvadene on it. He makes some awful faces.
It will get better.

He liked his visit to Lawerance Tech yesterday. Wasn't as impressed as he was with Michigan Tech. Let's just hope the allergist will let him go away to college. Our return appointment to plan therapy is the 19th. I am very anxious.

Off to man the life force in the home!

Wendy

OUCH!!! Hope your DS is feeling better. Silvadene is WONDERFUL!!! It really helps the healing & scarring.

Have a good rest of the week!

Hi Wendy,

Hope DS arm is a little better! Gotta hurt...

I fine when my calorie intact is low...I don't loose weight! You might want to watch that...I was really confused why I seemed to eating well and exercise and not loosing anything...after talking to my doctor I added a few extra healthy carbs to my diet and sure enough if ate enough healthy food and exercised I lost weight.

Have a great week!

Thanks ladies for the kind thoughts for DS. We went back to dr for a recheck, and it is looking good. He does gripe when I wash it for him, but it looks so much healthier. After this washing this afternoon, it bleed a bit, but the area is pink and supple.

Weather is yukier today. 40 mile an hour wind and snow. It was 65 just a few days ago. Heck, it was nicer this morning. Treadmill again. I have been watching seaon 2 of House while walking. Helps to get in the 45 minutes I want to reach.

Time for a walk and to have DH message some pain gel into my trigger points. He is such a good man! Cleaned the kitchen up after dinner so I could catch up on my journalling. He even vaccumed today while I took DS to drs.

Hope all have a great rest of the week.

Great losses to all

Wendy

Well, not much new here. Having issues with the internet going down. Weather still bad, although the winds aren't as strong.

Dieting is good. Been logging info on sparkpeople and it is giving me the calories and fats and carbs. So, I have cut things out, mostly those with high dead carbs. Calories are more stable the last 2 days. And today will be the same.

Gotta go. My car is dead, and DH is trying to charge the battery since DS drove it last night and it doesn't work today. Thinking he just didnt' shut the door all the way and the battery drained down.

I will catch up hopefully tonight.

Ciao all!

Wendy

Hello all!

Well, I jumped the wagon and had a small serving of Ice Cream yesterday. Did include it in my food log, and it wasn't as much calories as I dreaded, but the fat and carbs were pretty scarey!

DH and I have an afternoon of quiet. I think we are going to organize the front closet and the linen closet. It's so romantic. :lmao:

Weather here is still awful. 6 inches of snow, and still cold with a brisk breeze. Isn't nearly Easter? Looks like Christmas.

Well, better hit the closets and then the treadmill.

Catch ya all later.

Wendy

Ok!

Today is the last day of vacation. I go back to work and kids go back to school.

Had a wonderful dinner after church the DH made. Very healthy, but then he hads me a miniscule amout of ice cream and cake for dessert. Then I indulged on a chocolate egg. I am planning on that being the last.

Did the TM for only 25 minutes today. Too much yummies I guess. DH is watching the Master's Tournament. It's quiet and peaceful around here. And still snowing. We have almost 5 inches on the ground. Hard to believe it is April.

Well, off to log meals for today.

Hope all have a great day today!

Wendy

Hi Wendy, Isn't it nice to have a peaceful day before returning to work? My DH was also wathcing the Masters, so I caught some HGTV and then took a relaxing bath.

Sounds like your weather has been frightful for April. We're way below normal here too and had lots of wind today. Yesterday we had a squall for about 15 minutes-it lookes like a blizzard, but at least it didn't accumulate.

Have yourself a great week! Denise

Hello all!

Well, it wasn't too bad at work today. I can tell that I haven't been there in 10 days!

Was a bit hectic, so really didn't get to take a break. DH did have a wonderful, low cal, healthy dinner for me when I got home. He is so sweet.

DS went back to dr's for skin issues. Dr gave him something new for the burn area, so the skin stays soft, and for the rash. The boy is just about falling apart. Makes me worried. We go back to the allergist the 19th. Can't wait.

Well, it is going to have to be a treadmill night.

Good night all!

Wendy

Hey! Is it too late to come and cheer you on?

It sounds like the kind of weather we've been having. Our winter and spring breaks should have been flip-flopped. It was nice for 1 exact hour. I walked to the fitness place between kiddos.

:cheer2: W!
:cheer2: E!
:cheer2: N-D-Y!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: GO WENDY!

Thanks for checking in on my journal! I thought I'd return the favor :)

I really hope your son is getting better--it must be so frustrating!

It's so funny going back to work. I wasn't working for a few months because of my surgery, and now that I'm back--well, I just want to be home LOL and it's only 15 hours a week. I think I'm just not cut out for a real job :)

Hope that you have an awesome day!

Hi Wendy,

Sorry to hear that DS has hurt himself.....good thing you took him to the ER. At least it is starting to heal and hopefully the new meds will work on the other issues.

Don't worry about falling off the wagon, you can start over today!!! No need to beat yourself up about it. You are still going a great job!!!

Keep it up

Have a great day :)

Hello everyone! Thanks for checking in on me. It certainly puts that boost into what I am doing.

Food was good today! I walked right by the chocolate bunnies and didn't even take a whif. Now, I may have to take a whif later, as long as it isn't a bite!

DS his arm is healing really well. Sometimes I wonder about the boy. He can be clumsy. Broke his arm one summer, and just about 2 days later he cut his hand with the elelctic hedge trimmers and had to have his thumb sewn bad together. It wasn't his best summer. Sure hoping for some relief for him and his allergies when we go back start shots again.

Bekki-you are right. I was off just one week, and I am counting down the time until I have a day off! :rotfl: You would think I had other things to do! Nah...I try to ignore reality until it hits me in the face!

Jen--you are just amazing! I believe it is the wonderful out look you have on life!

I have to get upward and onward. Tonight is bible study. Nearly time to go!

Have a great day everyone! I sure am!

Wendy

Hi Wendy, Those chocolate bunnies do call our names, don't they? This was the first year that I didn't buy candy for Easter. Too many people in my family are trying to be healthier, so I didn't tempt them. Of course there's my workplace where everyone's cast off bunnies go to die. I must admit, I bit off a few heads. LOL!

Have yourself a great day! Denise

Hello!

LOL you are right Denise! I have munched a few bunny heads. Tomorrow all the left overs go to work for the teenagers to devour. They do a great job of it. There are cookies that will be going as well. I haven't really been snacking on them, but sooner of later, I will fall and grab onto them to save me! :rotfl2:

Had a few long days at work 11.5 hours for 2 days in a row. I am tired. Slept like a log last night, and I am enjoying the day I had off today. Even got up early and did some errands with DH. He didn't have to work until tonight, so we did Lowes, Meijers, and car wash. The snow is nearly all gone, and the sun was out today. Was able to take a short walk with dog. The TM is broken, and it isn't pretty. DH says he and DS can fix it. I hope so. Those walks help my legs to work out the cramps from short bursts of movement at work. Oh no! Did I just say that exercise is working! :goodvibes

DS and girlfriend just got in from a dinner in Grand Rapids. Guess I will go up and see how it all went!

DS brought home his cap and gown for graduation today. They graduate May 25th. Hardly seems like he should be old enough. I stil look at him and see an 8 yr old not an 18 yr old. Guess it will always be that way!

Wendy

They do grow up fast LOL! My little sister just moved off by herself to London (she's 23) and I can't help but picture as a little 6th grader :)

Bummer about your TM, hopefully the men of the house will be able to take care of it.

I hope your weekend is noce and stress free!
