On the fence about June Mediterranean cruise. Anyone else???

We are still planning to go in June for our 8 day. already booked flights and pre-cruise hotel so fairly committed...not worried about being sick (and fine wearing the mask), but am worried about the silly testing requirements.

About to cancel my Greece cruise. The first two times DCL cancelled for me. If they are going, with the current protocols in different countries, testing to get back home-we are out-strike 3. Way to many points where this trip could go sideways. I don't want to be denied at the port due to an asymptomatic positive. I don't want to be quarantined in a cabin. I don't want to miss ports I have waited 3 years to see because the ship may be denied access. It doesn't make much sense. I have a club level trip booked at the Polynesian instead. I can test here before I go, travel, relax and enjoy my vacation without too much worry-hopefully. That is what a vacation is supposed to be. I desperately want to visit Italy and Greece, but unless there is a miracle, it won't be on a cruise with DCL this year.

Well said! That's my mindset as well. There are just way too many potential pitfalls for a once in a lifetime cruise like this. If we go, and we end up quarantining on board - it'll be years or never before I can get back to try it again. I'd rather go when the risks can be better managed/mitigated.

Now I am getting nervous about staying with the Greece cruise I never thought about their different rules than ours for the virus. I really really want to go but don't want to pay what I am paying for all sea days or other ports. My voice of reason is kicking in lol.

We cancelled our 9 night Greece trip. We didn't want to risk of being prevented from getting to the ship or off the ship in ports. I am Greek and was looking forward to it. We took the money that we would have spent and are doing several Caribbean/Bahama cruises. We live in Florida so that makes it cheaper.

I am Greek too. And I can't wait to go see Greece. But not like this. Impatiently waiting for the world to change

It will be interesting to see how June is compared to now. I saw an interview with the Lt. Gov. in Hawaii (which has had one of the more expansive testing requirements to visit) where he stated that they hope to remove the "Safe Travels" requirements by April. Also, NCL and RCCL have relaxed mask mandates. I think its just too early to tell...

We decided to cancel. Will wait until 2023 either land or hopefully a combination of both but don’t want to waste money on my once in a lifetime trip this year. But either way 2023 will be a go in some form or another.
Instead we will be on the Wish in September and spend another week in June someplace domestic. Much easier to get home if positive at port ( if still required to swab) in Florida. Can’t drive home from Rome, LOL.

The bigger issue is that we have to swab prior to our return flight but I also do not see DCL getting rid of their swabbing protocols as quickly as other cruise lines. They are, which they should be, very cautious.

Oh, I agree, but just saying that a lot can change in 5 1/2 months (either way...)

The other issue is in the event there's another variant or an uptick in cases of an existing variant, I fully expect the cruise lines (and related governments to squeeze hard on the hair trigger). It seems they're willing to ease restrictions right now - but they are also willing to clamp down in the blink of an eye. Last year is a perfect example.

I think we need to see the roller coaster slow down and stay that way for a while....

Well I finally cancelled the Greek cruise in June. I just couldn't stand be stressed out that I will get stuck in Italy or Greece if I test Positive Well hopefully next year they do the same ports in Greece.
