Do my 7 year old twins have to eat from the child menu if we have the DDP?
Also lets here it what are the best and or most fun places to eat with the kids
Going in May!!!! Just the kids and I for Mother's Day!!!!:dance3:

from the FAQ:
Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available. Guests should be prepared for anything with regard to the beverage portion of their meals: While typically any sized soft-drink is permitted, sometimes the beverage is limited to medium size (such as at Yakitori House). Also, while typically the beverage is limited to fountain drinks, sometimes some guests have been allowed specialty drinks and/or bottled water.

Hope this helps. When you eat at a buffet, the kids chan choose whatever they would like :-)

TS without a doubt. As far as CS they are suppose to however, the last two trips we were on while using the DDP we were able to order some CS meals for our DD 8 off the regular menu. We only ever did this if there was something on the kids menu she didn't like and again only for CS meals. I always asked the CM before I ordered to make sure it would be ok.

There are just a couple of CS restaurants that don't have a kid's menu, like Pizza Planet in MGM, so they can order anything on the menu just like an adult. If you are looking for more interesting or appealing CS meals, check out Epcot -- their kids' meals look like they have more variety. And the suggestion for buffets for TS was great, especially if they are big eaters -- and a lot of those buffets are character meals which they would probably enjoy :thumbsup2

You must order off the kids meals at a Table service, yet we just got back end of jan and we used our 3 years cs for any meal. So sometimes we would share with him making so we had more cs for other meals if need be. PS we had a ton of snack left on our ddp so we got a bunch of stuff from the hotel gift shop for the trip home. Anything up to 4 dollars. They even said 2 liter of soda. Just a heads up

Disney's enforcement has not yet extended to CS, but the rule is explicit:

How do they notice? I didnt get an extra bill...I have seen people state that they would share meals cause it was so much food.

The way they noticed the abuse of the TS credits was from auditing of the restaurants that went on early in 2006. The auditing revealed the abuse, and within a year Disney added on a new enforcement mechanism (which is a bit annoying for the CMs, since they now have to ring up two separate bills for every table that orders anything off the Dining Plan, probably not making them bigger fans of the Dining Plan :)). As it is now, Disney does rely on the integrity of their guests to voluntarily comply with the rule as it pertains to CS.

Fun places: HDDR, 'Ohana, sci-fi (though the food won't knock your socks off), any of the number of character meals offered and San Angel Inn (kids like the marketplace atmosphere)

Fun places for kids: Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL, Biergarten at Epcot, Coral Reef at Epcot (for the aquarium), Rose & Crown at Epcot (if you time it to see Illuminations). And I second the votes for 'Ohana and Sci Fi.

Forgot to add CS places: Cosmic Ray's at MK (audioanimatronic entertainment), Pinocchio's at MK (get a window seat and watch the boats from Small World), Pizza Planet at MGM (arcade), maybe ABC Commissary if they like popular ABC shows (my dd9 was fascinated by all the "Lost" props they had).

The credits were separated when we went Feb 6-15. They could easily tell one person in our party had to order off the childs menu for ts and cs by our Key card. Our most fun ts meal was Prime Time and Biergarten. Our fav cs was Toy Story Pizza planet.
