My DH and I are planning on maybe getting the DDE for PH/FL Res...I thought I read somewhere that this can now be purchased on-site, like at Epcot. Did I read wrong? Does anyone have any information on this or point me to further details then what is on the WDW site? Thanks!

Used to be that you could order it ahead of time and then pick up a temporary card at Guest Services at Epcot, however they changed it to make it easier to get without having to go do it @ Epcot or order it ahead of time. Beginning November 12, 2007, the Disney Dining Experience card can be purchased at any Disney Guest Service location. Annual Passholders and/or Florida Residents will need to provide proof of eligibility. Note that Disney Dining Experience membership requires that you be age 21 or older.

I've always bought ours over the phone with no problems. We decided not to get one this year, however because a lot of our trips are last minute, and we don't always have a chance to get an ADR. It used to be nice to go over to Disney for dinner, but with the popularity of the dining plan, I can't ever get a table anymore. I kinda thought the idea of DDE was for frequent dining, for APH, and Fl res.. As long as you have an ADR it's not a problem though. Remember they add 18% grat. now too. Usually we would just pass on our savings to our server, that's not a problem for us. I've read you can buy them at Disney, but I would call (407) 566-5858 to find out where.

Hi,

We purchased our DDE card at EPCOT when we were there a couple weeks ago. We had no problem at all.:thumbsup2 BTW, the CM made a point of telling us that it is $25 to replace a lost card, so to keep careful track of it. I'm not sure it this is a new thing or not.
