Hi fellow disers,
My wife and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary on the Freedom in late September (with an after-cruise stop in MK for the MNSSHP!!!) . I was wondering if anyone had any info on the current internet access options on the freedom. We are leaving our children with family and would like to stay in touch via email or possibly skype.
Any info/tips would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the link from the RCCL website with information on the internet:

I can not remember the exact prices except that they were very expensive. You could buy access for the whole cruise down to 1 day. I would not trust that the cruise access can handle Skype. If you want to Skype, you might be better off finding an Internet Café in one of the ports. Many time the crew know some good places.

I had no problems with email and uploading photos fairly quickly to facebook for all the family to follow along. I used my laptop in the cabin. I want to say we spent about $55 for the week (it was a package) and that was me using it for a short time every day and my cousins each checking in with their families as well on my computer. The rest of our group went to the ship's internet cafe and kept in touch with their families there. Two years later hopefully their tech is even better.

When you stop in port follow the crew.
They will lead you to the best free wifi location that there is!

We usually compose our emails ahead of time and hit send when we connect to the free wifi. This eliminates the time typing in port. And we can send a bunch out quickly then get on with our sightseeing.

Ships wifi is always sloooooooow! We haven't had any luck using Skype or Facetime on a ship yet.
