"On Sale Soon! The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa"

Will VGF and the new building be sold as 2 different properties?

Same association but we will see how they worn sales with having points deeded to the new vs the old.

If one can buy and get points deeded to the old building, those would he available for immediate booking. Those to the new can’t until new rooms are opened.

I do wonder if the buybacks they did for VGF and the stoppage of sales will have them selling current building to start since time between sales and using would be short.

Then again, I think it would be easier for them to sell from the new building until opening when are that point it won’t matter.

I hope soon means we will see it announced first week in February with a date in March for the start!

How do you sell $30k contracts and not offer an ap. I will talk to my guide and tell them I have $30k to spend if you want my money I need to buy an ap

no pass, no gfv sale for me
$30k contracts are going to get you barely a week in a Studio, at which point an AP isn't cost effective anyways.

Yes, well, "soon" in Disney-speak often strongly resembles mañana-time in Santa Fe, NM.

Call a plumber or other service person out there for something you'd like done customer-soon, ask when they can get there to do it. You'll often get "Mañana" which literally means "tomorrow" but in Santa Fe simply means "not today."

That's their polite way of avoiding saying, "Tomorrow never comes." 😉

I already own 150 at akl

I only stay in studios

$30k would get me potentially 150 more points at $207 a point. Hence why I now need the ap. If ap does not go on sale ive no incentive to buy gfv

Yeah I don’t know how else to respond to this

ill simply say corporations don’t advertise stuff that they don’t plan to sell soon otherwise the impact of the money they spend on advertising is reduced. Dvc are starting the internet ads on Instagram and Facebook, this costs money

im beyond certain Disney is not spending money so they can see it wasted

100%

I’m predicting gfv goes on sale now same day riv price increase goes into effect feb 3
That timing makes sense to me too. I’ve read here that existing members in the past have been able to buy a new resort early, perhaps at an incentive price? I wonder if that will happen for vgf, and if so, when the “early purchase” notifications might start for current members.

I am sure that DVD would love to be able to have a say in AP sales..but they don’t. DPEP is in charge of those and DVC owners are not any more important to that division than all other guests.

There is a notice on the bottom that mentions them not being ready for sale..something like that.

They can not sell until they declare the units and that has not happened yet. So, I don’t think it will happen quite that fast… but I’d love to be wrong and we get news next week of a declaration!!!!

If you watch the video there is small text that says "expire as early as 2062" and "requires minimum purchase price of $31,000 to $50,000".

So, my assumption is that it is definitely going to be one association with the same expiration date and that the cost will be $206/point ($31,000/150 = $206.75).

I've seen this quoted before, AUL expires 2062 and the $207 is what AUL and RIV will be on 3rd Feb, so it's a red herring I'm afraid. VGF is 2064

Will they hold off bookings from non-VGF owners in any way when they first open? Just curious if/how they’d be able to prioritize owners for the new studios.

I hope they offer a “too good to pass up” pre sale for current owners. I’d be tempted for sure. I was on the fence with purchasing way back when they first offered, missed my chances at the initial pricing - I think it was around $145? I know I could have added on at “sold out” pricing but no way would I pay $255 with several years less use.

I’m prepared for some sort of restrictions on these new points to entice home resort advantage. With that many additional studios available and without a MAJOR incentive, I’ll just use my current points to book a room when I can at 7 months and expect better success getting studios at GFV than I had in the past.

They have done a short time…maybe a few weeks of giving owners time to book before opening to others if already in 7 months..which we are right now.

I would not expect much more than that.

Is there a minimum amount of points they will allow you to buy? Would I be able to buy only 100 points and if so, will it get the ‘benefits’ of direct?
