On Line Storage of files

Does anyone use an online file storage solution? I have a lot of files that I need to back up with protection. I have a hard drive but in the past had a scenario where it was damaged and I was stuck.
I would save documents and program files there.

Can anyone recommend a site that does this for a small fee? I would want it to be protected as some of the files are copyrighted.

I have used 2 in the last year, Carbonite and FilesAnywhere. Carbonite stores the backup online in a condensed form, that you can restore to your computer if need be. FilesAnywhere allows you to transfer files to online storage, and you can access them from any internet-enabled computer. I like both of these very much.

I just have webspace, part of which I have partitioned into a password protected directory. When I need to share something private, it goes in there via FTP upload

I use Mozy.com for automatic back-ups. It runs at night when I'm not working.

I also back-up once a week to an external hard drive. I started to get serious about a year or so ago when I realized I probably have thousands of dollars in various media files (books, music, movies etc) on my computer.

If you have a hotmail account you can use Sky Drive.

If I recall, you only get 25 GB of space with Sky Drive (not sure if there is a paid service that offers more), but for most people with an extensive photo and music collection, 25 GB would be gone real quick.

I use Mozy and Carbonite plus I have an external hard drive with some of my super essential stuff. You can never be too careful.
