My DD has been accepted to Florida State University, and will be living there from August till May, and is hoping to also summer school there as well. Does anyone know if we would qualify, or how do we find out if we qualify for Florida resident rates? (her living expenses there are more than mine here)

None the less, I am so excited that I have a good excuse to get to Florida more often and escape the winter here in the northeast.

I know that as far as Disney World Florida resident tickets go, every person using a Florida resident pass has to have a Florida ID. Every person's driver's license is checked and names are put on the tickets. Right now there is a special Florida resident 4 day pass for Disney World that works this way. (They always carry the Seasonal and Annuals at great resident discounts.) They are very strict about having a Florida ID for every ticket. Your daughter will need to make sure she gets a Florida Driver's License or ID card when she moves down. As far as the cruise goes, I don't know how the resident discount works. Best to call and find out from DCL.

FYI - to anyone buying tickets (4 day hoppers and up) in the near future, the prices are going up on March 28 (That's Sunday!) If you know you're going to need them, get them soon!

We're FL residents. In order for her to get the resident discount, she'll have to become a FL resident -- a good thing for tuition sake too (sorry, I'm a gator though). She'll need to have her Driver's License changed so she has a FL ID.

The FL resident discount is then good on DCL if she is booked IN the room with you -- there must be one FL resident per room in order to receive the discount.

We used out discount last year on our first cruise and were going to "share" with friends, but it turned out that their 10% rebooking + stateroom credit (their second cruise, they booked onboard) was about equivalent to the FL resident rate.

This year we're on the NYE cruise and figure our onboard booking credit will be it, they probably won't have a FL rate for that one.
