? on Carrirbean locations

My wife and I just joined and were looking into trying out a trip in the Bahamas or St. Martin since we have never been the the Carri bean. Anyone have any info on what places they liked best? We basically want a beach, nice water, and relaxation....
(we'll go back to Disney next year with hopefully kids so we;ll need the downtime to prepare)

Any info from anyone who has been out there would be greatly appreciated.

Have you thought about trying out Disney Cruise Line cruises?

They have 3, 4, 7 day and special cruises many of which have stops in the places you mentioned.

In fact, we are booked for the S.S. Member Cruise next September and will have two full days at Castaway Cay, Disney's private Beach island.

Just a thought for you. I have spent vacation in the Bahamas, including a week combining Paradise Island, Nassau and Freeport. This was done before children though. I think the cruise offers so much for children as well as adults and plenty of beach time. That would be my first choice.

But, you do have options to check out at least.
