What sort of discount is given if you book on the cruise? We're looking at a 7-day Magic next April and we're thinking of booking it in November when we're on the Wonder.

DCL website quoted about $3100 for the Cat 11 room. What sort of break off of this price would there be for booking on the ship? Do they need the deposit right then and there?

Depending on how far in advance you book your early booking discount can be substantial. We booked last July for this August and the cost of this years cruise was $700 less than last years for a Cat 5.

Because at the time there was a promotion for the new intinerary that included San Juan we got a $400 onboard credit instead of the usual $200.

I guess it can depend on the current promotions, but mostly how far out you can book.

By booking on board you get a 10% discount and a $200 shipboard credit. You can then transfer your reservations over to DU and get their credit saving you even further.

Last week on the Magic, Donna quoted $4660 for 3 adults for February 12, 2005 in a cat 6. Checked All Seasons and DCL onboard booking was about 180 less. Plus the 200 stateroom credit, and the credit that All Seasons would've given us by listing them as TA if we booked onboard of $200. So it would have been close to $600 to book while onboard.
